Sosa6 Posted August 2, 2015 Posted August 2, 2015 I am purchasing my first nicer set up of my collection and I'm looking for some advice. I've decide on the reel (Shimano Curado i), but now I am trying to decide on the rod. I've got it narrowed down to a Powell Max 3D, St. Croix Avid, or G.Loomis G2. Give me your thoughts please. Quote
Super User kickerfish1 Posted August 2, 2015 Super User Posted August 2, 2015 Out of those I would buy an Avid. 1 Quote
Super User Raul Posted August 2, 2015 Super User Posted August 2, 2015 I´m a GLoomis fan however the new GL2 is so close to an IMX in price that I would shell out the extra cash and get me the IMX. 2 Quote

keyvike Posted August 4, 2015 Posted August 4, 2015 Avid is a great rod. I have an Avid X and a regular Avid and love both rods. I also own an older GL2 and love that but I don't like the new ones nearly as well. Quote
Sosa6 Posted August 4, 2015 Author Posted August 4, 2015 Sounds like every one is steering towards the avid and that's fine by me. Quote
