Global Moderator Mike L Posted August 2, 2015 Global Moderator Posted August 2, 2015 Just when we think we got it figured out, we realize we really don't. Thanks Mike 1 Quote
Super User scaleface Posted August 2, 2015 Super User Posted August 2, 2015 The thing I remember most about Denny Brauer. He was fishing a Bass Master tournament somewhere and needed a big string the final day to win it. He saw a bunch of fish on his depth finder , stopped and fished them with a crankbait , caught the snot out of them and won the tourney. I dont have that magazine anymore but was really impressed how he pulled that victory off . Quote
BassTravis Posted August 2, 2015 Posted August 2, 2015 I've seen a tournament where Denny crunk his outboard up, and started doing donuts, getting the baitfish stirred up. He went from 12th place on the final day to win the tournament. 1 Quote

Global Moderator Bluebasser86 Posted August 3, 2015 Global Moderator Posted August 3, 2015 One of my favorite things I ever heard a bass pro say was Denny Brauer. He's always been one of my favorites, but I got to meet him in person when I worked at Cabela's. I've heard some say he isn't the nicest guy, but I was only 16 at the time and he sat there and patiently listen to me rattling on and answered all the questions I had and was the nicest guy the whole time. At one point I asked how he goes about getting big fish out of the nasty cover he likes to fish so much and he told me "I just worry about getting them on, then I worry about getting them out". It made so much sense to me then and still does. I feel like I catch more and bigger fish to this day because I'll put a bait where other guys won't because they either think they can't get a fish back out of that spot, or it's just too much of a hassle to them. Super User Catt Posted August 3, 2015 Author Super User Posted August 3, 2015 Bluebasser86, that's totally old school Those of us in that age group understand K.I.S.S.! 1 Quote
Super User Sam Posted August 3, 2015 Super User Posted August 3, 2015 I have Denny's book and DVD on flipping and pitching and that is where I picked up the tactic. Met Denny at a past Richmond Fishing Expo and he was a gentleman. I also was lucky enough to attend an old Bassmaster University class where Denny introduced the flipping and pitching method to us. Everyone needs to master this technique as it is an excellent way to fish rivers, lake shorelines and grass/pads. Quote
Ski213 Posted August 3, 2015 Posted August 3, 2015 Great video. Planned on skimming through it, ended up watching it start to finish. Thanks for sharing. Quote
