Brett Strohl Posted July 31, 2015 Posted July 31, 2015 Have any of you guys used the LT Popping frog? I've been using it a lot the last several times out and have had a lot of success with it. It seems to be about the perfect size to get a lot of strikes, and the popping noise it makes is pretty unique compared to other poppers I've tried in the past. How do you think it compares to other poppers? I honestly haven't ever used poppers much before, but I've been getting bites on this one in the middle of the day, so I was just curious if others would consider it better than average? Or maybe I'm just putting more time and energy into this one? It's honestly very hard for me to judge effectiveness when it comes to lures, b/c I never know what bites I would have got if I was using something else Quote
Super User iabass8 Posted July 31, 2015 Super User Posted July 31, 2015 If I'm throwing a frog, it doesn't have treble hooks. Quote

Super User gardnerjigman Posted July 31, 2015 Super User Posted July 31, 2015 Try the booyah poppin pad crasher. Killer bait, I trim the legs down to where they are only about an inch long. If I'm fishing it over sloppy stuff I'll push a rattle up the water pee hole aslo 1 Quote

Super User Master Bait'r Posted August 1, 2015 Super User Posted August 1, 2015 Yeah I'm not into that hard body kind of frog. There are better hard body poppers out there as well as more cover-friendly soft frogs too. I'm sure they work but a frog with trebles is just not on my radar in the least. Quote
Brett Strohl Posted August 1, 2015 Author Posted August 1, 2015 which hard body poppers do you like the best? Quote
papajoe222 Posted August 1, 2015 Posted August 1, 2015 ChugBugs and Magnum PopR for baits I can walk and pop but Hula Poppers and Lucky13s are good popper/chiggers. Quote
Global Moderator Bluebasser86 Posted August 2, 2015 Global Moderator Posted August 2, 2015 which hard body poppers do you like the best? River2Sea Bubble Walker 80 has been a killer for me this year. Cast a mile and walks super easy. Great hooks and hardware too so they're ready to go out of the package. It's basically the same as a Megabass Popmax, but half the price. Quote
Brett Strohl Posted August 3, 2015 Author Posted August 3, 2015 I like the poppers that are designed as frogs better b/c they make more sense to me, but I'm guessing fish are just attracted to the movement/sound. I'm not sure why companies design poppers that look like fish, but I suppose it doesn't matter when it comes to getting bites. Quote
5 Dollar Fishing Game Posted August 3, 2015 Posted August 3, 2015 Treble hooks on a frog defeat its' purpose. Don't believe me? Throw it one time on a bed of grass muck....... You'll be an instant believer in the top two hooks only. Quote
