benthinkin Posted July 29, 2015 Posted July 29, 2015 Hi all i was looking for some advice on fishing my home lake. It is a very clear deep reservoir that has usually developed a good amount of grass on along the shoreline by this time of year, this year has not been the case. falling lake levels have made any grass that tries to come up die quickly. This lack of cover has forced the fish deep, very deep. 45+ feet all the way to over 80ft deep. I'm looking for any advice, Thanks! Quote

dday07 Posted July 30, 2015 Posted July 30, 2015 Fish early morning or early evening till dark...best time there in shallows when no cover Quote
papajoe222 Posted July 30, 2015 Posted July 30, 2015 It sounds like either you'd rather fish shallow cover, or you don't like fishing deep. My question to you is: Are you catching them deep? If you're finding and catching them deep, what advice are you looking for? If not , look for structure above the thermocline. If you are looking to fish shallow, find the depth the baitfish are using. Next, find shallow structure that tops out at that depth. Lastly, look for and fish any irregularities along that structure. As for baits, fish your strong suit. Quote
