Super User Master Bait'r Posted August 1, 2015 Super User Posted August 1, 2015 Well, there's certainly no bias or speculation in that link Oh Barstool is very biased (so was everything the NFL has done up to this point) but you'd have to be in order to assemble that deep of an article with that many sources- and good luck getting anybody outside NE to even question any of it either... Most are so excited to shoot the Pats down they wouldn't care if it included their mom in the endictment lol. It's a great read even if Prez is a massive dbag (which he is). Lots of really pertinent information for people who actually care what really went down. 1

Lots of really pertinent information for people who actually care what really went down. Ā I've read that one Too. Ā Crazy. Ā If this situation has taught me anything - it's just how strongly influenced the public will be by the manner in which information is delivered by today's media. Ā All Media. Ā Ā Opinions are formed, choices & decisions are made as quickly as ANY information is made available; Right, Wrong or indifferent. Ā There was a saying my grandfather used 50 years ago that went " you can't believe everything you read". Ā And he was referencing The ONE local, 10 page newspaper. Ā Ā Ā Ā Some things don't change. Ā A-Jay 1
Super User Master Bait'r Posted August 1, 2015 Super User Posted August 1, 2015 Yeah I bet the "other guys" get real quiet right about now too haha... Since it doesn't fit the narrative they want it's a great time for them to "stop paying attention". I would be equally displeased if someone did this to Peyton or Wilson etc. It's just ridiculously poor sportsmanship and nothing else. Funny to see how fast people latch on though.
Fun4Me Posted August 1, 2015 Posted August 1, 2015 I think that there are a certain percentage people who are on the extremes of any newsworthy story, whether it's sports, politics, and the list goes on. Ā I believe that the truth generally lies somewhere towards the middle. In this particular case, I'm not going to absolve Tom Brady or the league. Ā
Super User A-Jay Posted August 1, 2015 Super User Posted August 1, 2015 I think that there are a certain percentage people who are on the extremes of any newsworthy story, whether it's sports, politics, and the list goes on. Ā I believe that the truth generally lies somewhere towards the middle. In this particular case, I'm not going to absolve Tom Brady or the league. Ā Ā Ā I will always believe the truth is the truth and that's where it lies. And only a super small population will ever actually know what that is -Ā Ā I also believe that where the "media" is concerned, there is Ā a lot of "Mis-Remembering" Ā with little regard to finding or reporting the Truth. Ā Media has proven over time that Headlines feed the family, the truth has very little to do with it. Ā I stopped expecting to find the truth in the media a long, long time ago - it's simply another from of Entertainment. Ā Like the Weather Forecast. Ā A-Jay
Fun4Me Posted August 1, 2015 Posted August 1, 2015 I certainly can't disagree with any of that A-Jay. Ā As it pertains to deflategate, I think there are people who think Tom Brady can do no wrong, and people who think Tom Brady did the equivalent of coming into their house and shooting their puppy. Ā The truth is he probably had something to do with the balls. I don't think the league has handled it very well, and I don't think Brady did himself any favors by the way he's handle his actions either. Ā Ā

The truth is he probably had something to do with the balls. I don't think the league has handled it very well, and I don't think Brady did himself any favors by the way he's handle his actions either. Ted Wells himself said he was 100% cooperative. Tom even PRINTED OUT THE RULES REGARDING INFLATION GUIDELINES AND GAVE THEM TO THE OFFICIALS (they had been overinflating them in the past) The cell phone thing is literally the only thing the league has, and even that is nothing since they already provided all the phone records AND every other phone asked for which would give a full picture anyways. It's a witch hunt through and through. The more info that comes out, the more disgusted I am with the league and believe me- if Tom was guilty I'd be the first to condemn his actions. Nothing worse than a cheater IMO- but read up if you care... It's embarrassing how low the league has stooped here. It's like a high school style selacious rumor mill or something.
Fun4Me Posted August 1, 2015 Posted August 1, 2015 If it's truly a witch hunt, what's the motivation?Ā
Super User deaknh03 Posted August 1, 2015 Super User Posted August 1, 2015 If it's truly a witch hunt, what's the motivation?Ā supposedly it was Brady's comment to Harbaugh about he should read the rulebook after the Ravens sucked it in the playoffs. 1

Ā Ā Ā Ā I'm a fairly rapid Boston sports fan so I know it's impossible for me to offer an unbiased viewpoint regarding the entire deal. Ā However, using the words Truth & Probably in the same sentence is a pretty good example of the point made above regarding how the media has shaped the perspective of those who follow it either faithfully or when it suits their style. Fun4Me Posted August 1, 2015 Posted August 1, 2015 supposedly it was Brady's comment to Harbaugh about he should read the rulebook after the Ravens sucked it in the playoffs. Ā That might have be the motivation for Harbough to say something to a team or the league. What was Roger Godell's motivation?

Super User A-Jay Posted August 1, 2015 Super User Posted August 1, 2015 Couldn't I say the same thing about the people who believe Tom did nothing wrong? Ā People can say whatever they want - Even YouĀ Ā Ā And since the only ones that actually know the truth aren't taking - there is little to no basis for a factual response.Ā Ā Either way, as a fan of the team, I hope he plays & more importantly - WINS ! Ā A-JayĀ
Fun4Me Posted August 1, 2015 Posted August 1, 2015 I hope he plays too. Ā Moreover, I hope if he does decide to take this to court, it doesn't end up with him serving a suspension at the end of the season or the playoffs.
Super User Master Bait'r Posted August 1, 2015 Super User Posted August 1, 2015 That might have be the motivation for Harbough to say something to a team or the league. What was Roger Godell's motivation? Not sure but after the higher-ups in his organization like Kensil start something like that rolling it's hard to go against it without really cleaning house and admitting major wrongdoing which of course opens the door to litigation. I guess only he could really tell us, which I believe in time he may have to given the evidence against them at this point.
Super User Master Bait'r Posted August 1, 2015 Super User Posted August 1, 2015 supposedly it was Brady's comment to Harbaugh about he should read the rulebook after the Ravens sucked it in the playoffs. It was brewing long before that. Lots of guys especially from the Jets org. Have a huge beef with Bill B and have since he scooted for a head coach position. Kensil has had it out for him for a long time. The Harbaugh comment was hilarious since it was completely true and that is 100% on the Ravens for not recognizing completely legal formations lol... Even after the refs started pointing out the formations they STILL didn't cover them. That right there is funny.
Fun4Me Posted August 1, 2015 Posted August 1, 2015 I can' remember, but didn't the league change the rules on those type of formations?
Super User Master Bait'r Posted August 1, 2015 Super User Posted August 1, 2015 I can' remember, but didn't the league change the rules on those type of formations? They did. Not sure why, but they did. Kind of funny if you ask me. No reason other teams couldn't do it themselves or learn to defend against it. It's just like any other play, really. The fact that Harbaugh referred to it as deception literally made me laugh. The butthurt was sooooo strong haha Kind of sad really- how if anybody else beats you it's not a big deal but if the Pats do it, they must have cheated or done something wrong. Sore losers are the worst.
Fun4Me Posted August 1, 2015 Posted August 1, 2015 Yeah, I don't really know why the league did that either. I guess they didn't think the rule was meant to encourage that kind of formation from the start. I certainly don't have a problem with teams trying to ride the fine edge of a rule, but they should also expect to get stung every now and then when they go too far.Ā
Super User FishTank Posted August 1, 2015 Super User Posted August 1, 2015 I have a thought. The last 5 phones I have owned have had all of my media, music, pics, and TEXTS transferred over when I bought a new one. Why wouldn't a married, popular, high profile athlete with 1000's of friends and business associates do the same thing? Also, why fire two equipment handlers, if "no one in the organization is guilty of any wrong doing"? 1

Ah yes I misspoke, it was the completely false report of 11/12 balls being "2psi under". Literally ONE ball was 2psi under. But of course that just doesn't get people excited enough so it was exaggerated and leaked to the public falsely and in an attempt to have them judged guilty by the public long before the actual investigation. That's what I'm getting at. 99% of this investigation has been fabricated out of thin air ()
Super User flyfisher Posted August 2, 2015 Super User Posted August 2, 2015 that is the media reporting, this is the official report. Ā think what you want but they were below the minimum when the colts weren't. Ā
