mackroper Posted July 29, 2015 Posted July 29, 2015 I will laugh my butt off when he drags this out and then ends up sitting out the playoffs.
Super User K_Mac Posted July 29, 2015 Super User Posted July 29, 2015 I have to agree with A-Jay that the way this has been handled has hurt football and is disappointing to even a casual fan like me. I also agree with flyfisher that it is hard to care much at this point. The history of the Patriots playing outside of the lines, and the bias and incompetence of the league in dealing with everything from player and team discipline, drugs and player injuries, to expansion and teams moving from one city to another makes the whole thing look and feel like another bad reality show. Thank goodness baseball doesn't have any of these issues!

Thank goodness baseball doesn't have any of these issues! Baseball doesn't have issues? Lmao! How many guys repeatedly use PED's? A-Rod was banned for 18 months, now he's in the running for comeback player of the year. An award supposed to be given to a player coming back from a serious injury, not someone who was thrown out of baseball then let back in. The only thing any major league sport cares about is money. If you cheat you should be out of the sport, for good. Making multi millions per year playing a game is great, but if someone insists on taking advantage of that opportunity they should be gone.
Super User K_Mac Posted July 29, 2015 Super User Posted July 29, 2015 Mackroper the problem with interweb discussion is sarcasm isn't always easy to read. Yes, baseball is as messed up as the rest of pro sports. The difference is I really like baseball!
mackroper Posted July 29, 2015 Posted July 29, 2015 Im a baseball guy as well, seems like football players can't just accept their punishment and live to fight another day.
Djf3864 Posted July 29, 2015 Posted July 29, 2015 Baseball is no different, they go to an arbitrator for every single suspension they just don't get dragged out for months on end like this one did.
Super User flyfisher Posted July 29, 2015 Super User Posted July 29, 2015 if money talks he won't play because Kraft will save about a cool million by not paying him. I also highly doubt it will affect anyone watching, if anything i would think viewership increases to see how garapolo, or however you spell his name, plays.

It won't matter, they'll pull more tricks out of their hat to compensate
Super User F14A-B Posted July 29, 2015 Author Super User Posted July 29, 2015 Maybe John Kerry can negotiate a deal for Brady.
Super User FishTank Posted July 29, 2015 Super User Posted July 29, 2015 I guess will see if those classes he took at the Lance Armstrong School of Self Defense will pay off. 1
Super User flyfisher Posted July 29, 2015 Super User Posted July 29, 2015 even lance admitted it though.......eventually
Super User deaknh03 Posted July 30, 2015 Super User Posted July 30, 2015 Maybe John Kerry can negotiate a deal for Brady. I bet Hillary had emails from Brady thats why she wouldnt turn them over. 2
fadetoblack21 Posted July 30, 2015 Posted July 30, 2015 I doubt he misses any games this year. He will obviously take the nfl to court and most likely be able to play through the process. This will be interesting.... So what happens if the case is settled late in the season and Brady still loses and has to serve his 4 game suspension? It would be tough to watch a backup implode in the playoffs, and I am not a NE fan. Brady should sack up and take the suspension. I don't care whether he did it or not, he destroyed evidence and made himself appear guilty to all.

If anything, this case is likely to be resolved post Bowl. It could very well be resolved mid season and Brady could serve the 4 games if he loses. Unfortunately, the case is being taken to a minnesota court that had been nothing but "a thorn" in the nfl's side. Its likely we see him all 16 games and into the post season. When marshawn lynch was charged with reckless driving and DUI i think that case took 2 years or something to come to fruition.
