Super User F14A-B Posted July 28, 2015 Super User Posted July 28, 2015 Just heard it was upheld by Roger.. Hehe..
Super User Choporoz Posted July 28, 2015 Super User Posted July 28, 2015 http://www.bostonherald.com/sites/default/files/media/2015/07/28/07282015%20--%20FINAL%20Decision%20Tom%20Brady%20Appeal.pdf 20 pages....lol....the only part anyone cares about is the first sentence of the last paragraph: "The four-game suspension is confirmed." Groundhog Goodell saw his shadow and now we get six new weeks of New Englanders whining about how much the whole world is biased against them. 5
Bryce_Fishin24 Posted July 28, 2015 Posted July 28, 2015 I'm saying this from a fanbase point of view, no matter how you look at it, the patriots always have something up their sleeve little or big, who knows they've probably haven't been caught doing more things... All I know when patriots are mentioned on SportsCenter or radio it's always something to do with something they have done... Yea Brady has won Super Bowls but in my opinion that taints his legacy.
Super User DogBone_384 Posted July 28, 2015 Super User Posted July 28, 2015 I REALLY hope his 4 game suspension doesn't interfere with Brady's bass fishing.... Garoppolo needs the practice anyway....
Super User iabass8 Posted July 28, 2015 Super User Posted July 28, 2015 I doubt he misses any games this year. He will obviously take the nfl to court and most likely be able to play through the process. This will be interesting....
Super User Senko lover Posted July 28, 2015 Super User Posted July 28, 2015 I saw an article that said the deflation was not the issue, just a small "prank" essentially, but the issue was that Brady had his cell phone destroyed right after he found out that they had discovered the deflation, which most likely destroyed incriminating text messages.
Super User tomustang Posted July 28, 2015 Super User Posted July 28, 2015 What a scumbag, destroyed the evidence.
Super User A-Jay Posted July 28, 2015 Super User Posted July 28, 2015 During the Off Season now, one would never know Professional Football is even a sport. Thanks to the mainstream media coverage, The National Football League has become a seriously BAD Reality Show. It's like this weird combination of Naked & Afraid mixed with Are You Smarter Than a 5th Grader ? As an NFL Fan, I'm really disappointed. A-Jay 1
Super User FishTank Posted July 28, 2015 Super User Posted July 28, 2015 "Cell phone, what cell phone?" 2
Hurricane Posted July 28, 2015 Posted July 28, 2015 As a Bills fan I hate the Pats... Sick of hearing about the Pats and Brady.. Hope the Bills bury them here week 2.. 1
Super User Fishing Rhino Posted July 29, 2015 Super User Posted July 29, 2015 I have an ominous feeling that this thread has the potential to go the way of its older sibling about the same topic.
Super User flyfisher Posted July 29, 2015 Super User Posted July 29, 2015 not surprising that the guy who laid down the penalty upheld the same penalty. there was obviously something on that phone that wasn't supposed to be seen and apparently he also had an affidavit from the phone carrier saying that the content of the messages was not able to be retrieved. I think he is silly to go up the food chain wit this one. There is potential for this to drag out a few months and then if it is upheld or reduced he will be missing games late in the season instead of early on...i don't even care anymore. the Patriots cheat, have been caught and it is what it is. I hope he is back for the december matchup against the eagles so there are no excuses when we win.

Conversely, if truly innocent, I would fight too.. But, I think he was full aware. Now, on a positive note, Brady will be fresher late in the season, that could help the patriots, depending.
Super User flyfisher Posted July 29, 2015 Super User Posted July 29, 2015 i think he was more than fully aware but at this point it doesn't matter. He cheated and that is it. He could have avoided the whole thing just by coming out and saying he told them to deflate them a little bit because he liked them that way but it obviously went too far. Oh well, guess we will see what happens.
Super User Jrob78 Posted July 29, 2015 Super User Posted July 29, 2015 If Brady doesn't want the balls deflated, they wouldn't have gotten deflated, simple as that. He got caught cheating, period. I personally don't think it's that big a deal but he has to be suspended. 1
Super User Lund Explorer Posted July 29, 2015 Super User Posted July 29, 2015 This is a biggest victory many AFC teams have had for a very long time. Sadly, it will probably be their last one for the foreseeable future!
Super User roadwarrior Posted July 29, 2015 Super User Posted July 29, 2015 Hmm...So "Guility" until proven innocent? Here is Mr. Brady's response: I am very disappointed by the NFL’s decision to uphold the 4 game suspension against me. I did nothing wrong, and no one in the Patriots organization did either. Despite submitting to hours of testimony over the past 6 months, it is disappointing that the Commissioner upheld my suspension based upon a standard that it was “probable” that I was “generally aware” of misconduct. The fact is that neither I, nor any equipment person, did anything of which we have been accused. He dismissed my hours of testimony and it is disappointing that he found it unreliable. I also disagree with yesterdays narrative surrounding my cellphone. I replaced my broken Samsung phone with a new iPhone 6 AFTER my attorneys made it clear to the NFL that my actual phone device would not be subjected to investigation under ANY circumstances. As a member of a union, I was under no obligation to set a new precedent going forward, nor was I made aware at any time during Mr. Wells investigation, that failing to subject my cell phone to investigation would result in ANY discipline. Most importantly, I have never written, texted, emailed to anybody at anytime, anything related to football air pressure before this issue was raised at the AFC Championship game in January. To suggest that I destroyed a phone to avoid giving the NFL information it requested is completely wrong. To try and reconcile the record and fully cooperate with the investigation after I was disciplined in May, we turned over detailed pages of cell phone records and all of the emails that Mr. Wells requested. We even contacted the phone company to see if there was any possible way we could retrieve any/all of the actual text messages from my old phone. In short, we exhausted every possibility to give the NFL everything we could and offered to go thru the identity for every text and phone call during the relevant time. Regardless, the NFL knows that Mr. Wells already had ALL relevant communications with Patriots personnel that either Mr. Wells saw or that I was questioned about in my appeal hearing. There is no “smoking gun” and this controversy is manufactured to distract from the fact they have zero evidence of wrongdoing. I authorized the NFLPA to make a settlement offer to the NFL so that we could avoid going to court and put this inconsequential issue behind us as we move forward into this season. The discipline was upheld without any counter offer. I respect the Commissioners authority, but he also has to respect the CBA and my rights as a private citizen. I will not allow my unfair discipline to become a precedent for other NFL players without a fight. 1
Super User flyfisher Posted July 29, 2015 Super User Posted July 29, 2015 Right, that is believable. sorry but i just don't trust the guy based on everything that has happened in the past and present. There is a lot of things that "happened" as a coincidence and i am sorry but i just don't buy it. He should just man up, take a month long vacation to some island and call it a day. 1
Super User F14A-B Posted July 29, 2015 Author Super User Posted July 29, 2015 Brady has done little if anything to prove he is innocent, however, the evidence is clear that footballs were de-flated & Brady did indeed handle these footballs multiple times ( fact ) Guilty by association? Or by design? I don't know, but it feels like a stalemate to me ( a legal one )
Super User F14A-B Posted July 29, 2015 Author Super User Posted July 29, 2015 Maybe I should say under inflated..
Super User Choporoz Posted July 29, 2015 Super User Posted July 29, 2015 Love that a guy making $15M per year is holding up his union card as part of his defense 1
S. Sass Posted July 29, 2015 Posted July 29, 2015 Let any one of us nobodies even remotely be in his shoes and we would be under the crossbar hotel. The NFL is such a parade of Kardashian drama these days. ESPN reeks of political correctness so bad I cant stand to even watch it anymore. Its even to the point I mute the dang announcers and their hogwash when I watch a game. The biggest bunch of over paid catered to crybabies I have ever seen = NFL player
