Guys - I am *loving* the Ned Rig. It scoops them all up, and feels like cheating, but they're generally smallish. I finally netted a big one on it last night and now I feel my confidence in the rig's capabilities is complete.

It's nice to see for sure that it can draw bigger strikes.

And the open hook isn't nearly as limiting as I thought it'd be initially. It comes through grass surprisingly well, and it's pretty easy to shake the green stuff off when you feel it.

Ned Rig 4 Life! Or, the rest of this summer, at least.

Love me the Ned Rig. Staple in my tackle box now. I just need some more jigheads b/c docks ate up my box of three. And I feel like some weedless ones would be really nice, but they aren't coming out for a while. I don't mind them for grass, but wood eats them up like candy lol. But on a relatively clean bottom they are killer for me.

Congrats! Nice fish! The Ned rig is one of my newfound favorites! It's right there with drop shotting with a robo worm! Deadly!

NO! The Ned rig does not catch big fish! I repeat, go back to fishing all your power fishing techniques because that's the only way to catch big fish!

Seriously though, I've caught a ton of big fish on the Ned since I started fishing it several years ago.  Mostly catch big smallies on it but big largemouth can't resist it at times either. One of my biggest largemouth I've caught from my favorite smallmouth lakes was on a Ned early this year.

I forgot to mention I hooked into a pretty large Northern Pike right after this one and had a wild fight going until it decided to turn its head. *CUT*

So even the lake monsters can't resist Ned!

Would that be a PBNJ on a custom C&C Ned Head? Just kidding I have a bag full of those Ned Heads in my garage! :)

Yes it was. That Candy Purple color looks great with a PB&J Zinker. I think I've got a weedless version perfected but I haven't had to fish a Ned hardly at all this year so I haven't had much of a chance to test them.
