ABW Posted July 27, 2015 Posted July 27, 2015 Just a quick question for yall. On your drag star, does it have the ability to move left and right? My friend has one and is concerned, but I think this is completely normal, as it doesn't affect performance at all. Any thoughts? Quote
ABW Posted July 27, 2015 Author Posted July 27, 2015 Maybe the guys with the similar Tatula could chime in? Does your Daiwa reel do this? Quote
ABW Posted July 27, 2015 Author Posted July 27, 2015 If I loosen the drag all the way, it does not move, but when set normally, it does. Quote
Super User new2BC4bass Posted July 27, 2015 Super User Posted July 27, 2015 Don't have a Zillion TWS, but have 3 older models. Also probably another 20 Daiwas ranging from a TD-S to the PXL Type R including 3 of the T3 1016 models. I've never noticed that kind of play. 1 Quote
Cgrinder Posted July 27, 2015 Posted July 27, 2015 Does just the drag star move, or is it the whole driveshaft? The first is weird. The second is a thing on some Daiwas; a little in and out play can be normal. Quote

I believe it was caused by a bent washer. Quote

Super User Montanaro Posted July 27, 2015 Super User Posted July 27, 2015 Has the reel been disassembled? Quote
ABW Posted July 27, 2015 Author Posted July 27, 2015 Has the reel been disassembled? I took the drag off and put everything back on, and it still does it. Quote

bigturtle Posted July 27, 2015 Posted July 27, 2015 you mean the drag star can be pushed slightly into the reel, and spring back? ya mine does that The thing is held in place by a spring, and if you have the drag at lower settings, its going to leave space there. If you have the drag tightened ALL the way down, and it still moves, then thats a problem. If the drag is backed off, its going to leave wiggle space between the star and the piece of metal that pushes against the drag discs. Quote
