Hey all! I just got my first pair of Costa Del Mar's and I have to say I'm either disappointed or I have a defective pair. After many positive reviews, I opted for the 580G green/amber lens. The issue I'm having is glare/reflections coming from the inside of the lens almost making the lenses look dirty all the time, although they're not. After trying many styles I settled on the Jose style which is only slightly wider than my face. This small gap appears to be allowing light to enter the lens from the back side and reflect light into my eye. Has anyone else had this issue? Seems odd for such a high quality lens, selling the anti reflective/anti glare properties. Thanks for any insight/experience you can provide!

I've owned several pairs of Costas and currently have 2 and never had the issue you're describing. I've never had the green lenses either though.

I've owned 4 pairs of costas. I've had 2 pairs in Blue 580 and 2 in Green 580. I love mine I haven't had any issues with glare.

What you're describing is that the glasses don't fit your face, hence the gap. Can you take them back and try on different pairs?

I've got a pair in the 580G Green/Amber lenses. I don't have that issue.Like Vol said, it sounds like you picked a style that doesn't fit you face correctly, hence the light allowed behind your lens. You might want to look for a style that narrows that gap you're talking about, or completely eliminates it.

Thanks for the feedback everyone. The gap isn't that large honestly but maybe just enough to cause the issue. I am going to try and return them and find another style that fits my face better. Thanks!

Tilley hat model #LTM6 might be a solution... and it helps protect your face, neck and ears.

I have the exact same pair assuming yours are the 2015 model Jose. I have not experienced your problem however the rubber molding is already separating from the frame in two locations. I will sending my pair in for repair/replace after only two months of use. I would weary caution of buying a frame with all that rubber near the nose piece.

I also have the same color lenses, but different frame. I am wearing the man o war, and can't notice any glare either. Good luck, and hope you figure it out!

All glasses will reflect light off of the inside of the lens. The majority of that light comes from above.  I'd bet that if you wear a cap or visor, you won't notice it because you'd be blocking that overhead light.
