How do I determine what size to pick? Which is a producer for you guys?

I use the regular 4" swing impact on a 1/4oz jighead. It's a killer for smallies and spots in clear water. Catches a lot of walleyes, whites, and crappie too.

I'm debating on buying some line as well.

I have the 15# PowerPo right now in Moss Green but I feel like I should upgrade that for my MH.

I'm not 100%

I just started giving some thought to line. I tried the Seaguar Red Label Fluorocarbon Line which is one of the least expensive fluoro available and I was really disappointed.  Really had problems with my baitcasters and birds nests, really stiff line. Perhaps it's my fault. Although I usually don't keep trying the same brand when disappointed, I bit the bullet and tried Seaguar AbrazX Fluorocarbon Line. Huge difference. A lot more money but really worth it.

Another thing to consider with mono, try some line conditioner, the KVD brand is about $4.00. My experience with it is positive.

That's a equivalent to a Slammer, an I Slide, 2 Hudds, almost an Ayuroid, 10 packs of Senkos, half-way to a nice rod or reel, 5 River2Sea Spittin' Wa's, almost 10 Cavitron buzzbaits, 2 spools of Power Pro, 5 BOSS Alabama Rigs, a Jerry Rago Alpha Rat, or 10 Strike King Silent Red Eye Shads.

Now that's worth pinning for future reference.

(kidding. but only a little)

Only had an hour to fish over at the Susquehanna and had no luck. the water finally went down and it's pretty clear, however, it's about 91 and completely sunny.

I tried a drop shot right away with Trick worm and after a few casts, my weight got snagged and that was the end of trying that.

I think I definitely need to invest in some much better weights.

Here is something for river smallies that seems to work for me well in clear water in the summer, but I don't hear recommended very often:  a 4 inch worm rigged weedless on a Slider Head or an Owner Bullet Ultrahead. I use Berkley power worms in black and pumpkinseed color and a 1/8 oz size head. I look for deeper pools to drop it into and hop it along the bottom with the current.

Thats a great idea. Thanks man! I'm getting so much good feedback. This order is gonna be perfect

So, any last essentials to help modify baits? Rattled, etc. How do I go about searching for those

Jackall crosstail shad in baby bass with some size 2 owner wacky hooks (the green ones) is an awesome dropshot setup. As for worm weights, I really can't recommend strike king tungsten weights enough.

So, if ya'll had to recommend cheap yet really good line[if that makes sense], what would you recommend?

You said you use spinning only, and you are fishing a river for smallmouth. Is that right?

For that I use 8lb Trilene XT mono or 30lb Power Pro braid (8lb diameter mono equivalent).

Alright man, yes you're correct. I fish lakes a lot too but river sometimes!!

OK, those work fine for me in lakes too, and for both largemouth and smallmouth. I also use only spinning, in both lakes and rivers. I use heavier or lighter mono or braid, depending on the situation, but I'm very confident I could get by almost anywhere I fish with just the two I mentioned. I don't bother with fluoro at all.

PowerPro, you pay more for braid up front but you won't need to respool for a while.  I have 3 year old PowerPro on a lot of my spinning reels and the line is still good.  All I've had to do is add more line every year or two as I go through line from tying on lures/leader and whatnot.

I can't say I read every post but you are to worried about color. Keep it simple and natural. Green, brown, black, white-pearl, whatever is natural. What line to use? I assume you are using a spinning rod and I would recommend 20# power pro. As for baits and stuff it all depends on your budget. Sometimes you can get away with a cheaper bait of te same kind and sometimes you can't. For instance those pointer jerkbaits or a vision. They are expensive to a lot of people but the difference in big.

Thank you!

I want to get some jigs but I don't know how to pick them with skirts. I've only bought little jigs with no skirts from BPS for my twister tails

Buy nude jigs and skirts separately. Save yourself some money this way. Or if you prefer buying with the skirt on get Keitech Jigs. I like them. I also like ***, GMoney jigs and Freedom.

not sure why its *** my word "N U T E C H" ???

Okay, i'll wrap this post up here with a few final questions as i'm about to make my order and get some last opinions.

Arkie Head=i'm assuming if ya'll are ordering from TW, you buy the BOSS arkie heads? If not, which?

T-Rig Bullet Weights=what maker do ya'll suggest for these?

C-Rig: how do I go about actually finding the materials needed for the rig on TW and which to buy.

Swim Jig=any suggestions in particular?

Basically, with these few things; i'm asking for someone to tell me what they would order and i'll check it out.

Thanks guys!

So far, this is my order. I'm pretty sure this is laughable but can someone rate my decisions? lol

I still need pointed in the right direction for C-Rig things.

Thanks guys.

Top Brass Brass-N-Glass Bullet Weights.

Bobber Stop.

Hook.

That's all.

Not a true C-rig, but a slip-shot rig. It's better in more ways than one.

P.S. You need skirts too I think for those jigheads.

P.P.S. That 3/8 oz chatterbait with a trailer might be way too heavy for your spinning rigs to handle. I was fishing it on a flipping stick the other day.

I've been throwing 3/8 cavitrons for a long time...haven't caught any fish on 'em but they've been handling well. Do you truly think I should downsize?

PS: What skirts do you recommend?

Sorry for all the d**n questions; I've just never purchased skirting or anything like that before.

PSS: With weights, i'm assuming I should go with 1/8 and black?

PSSS: Which bobber stops do you recommend? LOL oh boy. I might as well remove myself from this site with all these questions.
