Muzzy8124 Posted July 22, 2015 Posted July 22, 2015 I'll be visiting Orlando for a few weeks and i was wondering if anyone knew a few bank fishing spots for some bass. Also somewhere close to Windermere Fl as well. Thanks!! Quote
chitura Posted July 22, 2015 Posted July 22, 2015 Unless you live on the lake, it's hard to find many places to bank fish. I would suggest the south end of lake underhill, or Turkey lake. Quote
Muzzy8124 Posted July 22, 2015 Author Posted July 22, 2015 Ok sweet. Thanks! I've heard there are a lot of ponds to bank fish but i don't know where any if them are Quote
zachb34 Posted July 22, 2015 Posted July 22, 2015 It's not the issue of finding ponds because believe me there are tons. The issue is finding spots that you're allowed to fish. A lot of places have ponds in parking lots amd stuff or near shopping centers to drain the water from the comcrete. These places look at fishing as a liability or some times people leave their trash and ruin it for the rest. That being said I'm not in Orlando and don't know any specific spots. I used to play travel hockey and went there atleast once or twice a season and there's some nice little ponds near the RDV sportsplex. I never had a problem fishing there briefly but it's been a few years. 1 Quote

Generally the worst case scenario is just being asked to leave, it's hit and miss with security. A residential area is a different story. 1 Quote
einscodek Posted July 23, 2015 Posted July 23, 2015 i seen some monsters on Disney property ..but you have to pay to fish there.. may be worth it Quote
Gotfishyfingers? Posted July 23, 2015 Posted July 23, 2015 I would look on google earth for some public parks that are on a lake or look for public boat ramps. I can't see it being to hard to find friendly waters to fish. Quote
BassingNick Posted July 23, 2015 Posted July 23, 2015 Check out some of the ponds by the turnpike. Quote
Wormi Posted July 28, 2015 Posted July 28, 2015 Lake Baldwin is a great spot, there's accessible banks around the 75% of the lake via a large sidewalk that circles around the entire lake. Great shops to visit when your finished. I've caught a 3-4 pounder there. the map for lake baldwin is here: https://www.google.com/maps/place/Winter+Park,+FL/@28.5726308,-81.320905,16.06z/data=!4m2!3m1!1s0x88e7701bdba629c5:0xc63f82952cf5ee20 There's also a public dock off of lake berry, which you can get to by following preserve point drive all the way down to a dock on your right. It's a great spot, I catch every time I visit. I remember one evening while fishing with a texas rigged senko, an entire school of bass just started attacking the top water for a length of about 20 feet. It was the biggest ruckus ive ever seen on a lake. The map of lake berry is here: https://www.google.com/maps/place/Winter+Park,+FL/@28.5839892,-81.3360476,17.9z/data=!4m2!3m1!1s0x88e7701bdba629c5:0xc63f82952cf5ee20 The awesome part is that these lakes are literally 2-3 miles from each other. Perfect for shore hopping. If you need to add another shore to your shore hopping destination within a few miles, Lake Chelton is more like a pond but the bank is entirely accessible and there are some respectable sized bass in this lake. The map is here: https://www.google.com/maps/place/Winter+Park,+FL/@28.5782369,-81.3488815,18.69z/data=!4m2!3m1!1s0x88e7701bdba629c5:0xc63f82952cf5ee20 You can drive to each of these lakes from another in about 5 minutes. This has been one of my go-to's when my backyard lake is getting too monotonous. I hope this helps Quote
