I just started fishing tournaments this year, and have only brought the nrx one time. I'm always afraid of breaking it or losing it. Sometimes my rods take a beating, but I try my hardest to keep them safe and have not broken one yet. Knock on wood.

treat it like a $100 rod!

Just to stay fairly cost affective, I have a few rods in mind around the $100-$120 range that I personally use in my arsenal and can say they all have a great amount of sensitivity. The Falcon Bucoo packs a ton of sensitivity into a rod at $110 and I can't say enough good things about this rod. The Kistler Carbon Steel (mines actually a pro series but I'm fairly certain they are the same rod and components) is another great option coming in at $120. Last is a Duckett ghost. These rods perform very closely to the more expensive Micro Magic rods and are a great buy at $100.

I keep seeing post about the *** Black and I cannot personally speak on that rod, but my father has one paired with one of his speed spools and he has plenty of good things to say about that rod.

Hope this helps!
