Caught about 150-200 whites and wipers deep in about 3 hours, handful of 15# channels, and this big buffalo.

Anyone know which sub-species this is?  Not the best picture for an ID, but thought I would throw it out there.

It's a bigmouth buffalo. The smallmouth buffalo has more of a sucker mouth because they feed off the bottom instead of filtering like a bigmouth does.

Cool, I was wondering about the difference between the two.

Are they omnivores?

Interesting.  I had thought it would be the smallmouth or black buffalo as it looked like the mouth was down at an angle, but again not a very good picture to compare mouth angle and eye to mouth ratio, etc.  Was hoping there would be something else that stuck out as its really the only picture.  Did not think much of it at the time, but wanted to check into it after the fact.
