Best Bet For Braided Line

I'm looking for insight on the type of braided line I should be using. I want a fairly cheap, but quality braided line that would be good for frog fishing. I will be fishing it on a 7 foot, heavy power Halo Twilight series rod. I don't know if this is relevant information but the rod has a parabolic bend to it, not a fast action tip. I don't really care if the line has a coating or not. I've never fished with braid before so I would appreciate any advice.

PowerPro is fine.  Sufix Performance is another low cost braid alternative that is quieter than PowerPro Original.

If you choose to go with power pro I would go to farm and fleet and look there first. Here in Janesville it was on sale today at 12.99 for 150yds, but regular price is still the cheapest I have found.

Sufix Performance braid for me. Had a much better experience with it than I did with PP original.

For frogs I use the same line as I use for everything else, I've been switching over to US Braid.  At present I have 5 reels spooled up with this line, 2 freshwater and 3 inshore 10 & 20#.

I agree with the other guys who said Power Pro. I also disagree that SunLine braid is the best, I've personally tried 60 and 80 pound and both lines exhibit stretch.

Power Pro.  I've tried lesser brands, High Seas, Seaguar Kenshi, spiderwire, and PP is by far better than all of those.   So at least go with Power Pro, and if you do any other brands, go to higher end stuff.

Quite a number of reports that the line is noisy so that puts it off my radar. PPS8S and Smackdown are said to be quieter. I know PPS8S is quieter than Smackdown.

I've become a big fan of Cabelas Rip Cord 8.  I much prefer it to Power Pro (reg and SS.)  Its quieter, digs in less and much cheaper.  The only negative I've found is that it doesn't hold color well, but that really doesn't concern me.

I think you have already found out through this thread that everybody uses the best braid and everyone has their own opinion.  I have used PP, PP super slick, Suffix 832 and recently some seaguar and found them all to be good lines.  find one of the major well known brands and give it a whirl and see if ti you like it.  if you do, then you can always try out something different later on.
