poisonokie Posted July 18, 2015 Posted July 18, 2015 Anyone know where to hook into some bronzebacks in the sooner state? Quote
poisonokie Posted July 18, 2015 Author Posted July 18, 2015 I know they're in the Illinois, but who wants to brave THAT madness? Tenkiller, maybe? Quote
looking4structure Posted July 18, 2015 Posted July 18, 2015 Lake Lawtonka is loaded with smallies. Quote
Snakehead Whisperer Posted July 18, 2015 Posted July 18, 2015 The Illinois River (including Tenkiller) has good smallie water. I like doing a canoe float out of Sparrow Hawk above Tahlequah on the Illinois. There are some walleye in that stretch of river too. Quote
Snakehead Whisperer Posted July 18, 2015 Posted July 18, 2015 thanks guys. Need to get up there. Lawtonka is SW of OKC. State record smallie was caught there at 8lb7oz. Quote
poisonokie Posted July 18, 2015 Author Posted July 18, 2015 yeah, I've never even heard of lawtonka, but it's closer than tenkiller. Next weekend, for sure Quote
that possum Posted July 18, 2015 Posted July 18, 2015 Tenkiller, Lawtonka..that's probably the closest to you. Eufaula has some huge ones but they're kinda hard to find. I'm gonna go after them on mountain fork next weekend. Quote
looking4structure Posted July 20, 2015 Posted July 20, 2015 There's alot of riprap at Lawtonka. A shakey head with a craw has been killer for me. Alot of jet skis and party type boats during the weekend. If your in a boat the ne corner won't have any jetskis. The boat ramp is great. Lots of boat houses . We turn all our bass loose there after our tuesday night tournaments and sometimes they (linger) around. Quote
