Basseditor Posted July 17, 2015 Posted July 17, 2015 I know it's a wide open question but... I've been researching some options. I don't see any really good fishing reports. I'm driving from Texas and have a few days to go fishing. I'm not bringing lots of gear. I'll be in Green Bay. I'm willing to travel north to fish so any general areas or counties that seem to be better now? Bass, and Muskie. No walleye. I'm more familiar with far north like Vilas County, but it's been decades since I've been there. I'll have access to a boat. Quote
Junebugman Posted July 17, 2015 Posted July 17, 2015 You can always google etc the counties thats what I do if I've never been to an area works good for me good luck what about green bay? Supposed to be great smallies there Quote
Basseditor Posted July 17, 2015 Author Posted July 17, 2015 Thanks for the reply. I've Googled some areas. I know guys here won't steer me wrong. I'm trying to decide how far I'll need to go. Some have suggested the Cisco chain. I've never been there so it could be fun. Quote
Super User Scott F Posted July 17, 2015 Super User Posted July 17, 2015 Check out the High Falls Flowage near Crivitz, about an hour North of Green Bay. If you are looking for a guide, the very best in the area is Mike Mladenik. Green Bay and the Fox River has some of the best musky fishing anywhere! Quote
Super User WIGuide Posted July 17, 2015 Super User Posted July 17, 2015 If you're going to be in Green Bay, I wouldn't worry too much about heading north. Green Bay, Sturgeon Bay has some of the best fishing in the country. The Winnebago chain seems to have a love hate relationship for some and can get pretty rough when it gets windy. Quote
Basseditor Posted July 18, 2015 Author Posted July 18, 2015 Thanks fir the tips. I'll be on the road heading north in a few hours. Quote
