Super User Jrob78 Posted July 26, 2015 Super User Posted July 26, 2015 you mean a suicide pool where you pick a team to win each week and can't pick them again all season? Yes, last year is the first year I've done that but it was pretty fun. I like picking every game for the season too, either way is cool with me. 1 Quote
Super User flyfisher Posted July 26, 2015 Super User Posted July 26, 2015 we can figure out all out, we still have some time Quote
Super User iabass8 Posted July 27, 2015 Author Super User Posted July 27, 2015 We got a few weeks to get 3 more. At the very least, we can do an 8 man league with a shallow bench or a survivor weekly league. Wr can do both, too. Quote
Global Moderator Mike L Posted July 27, 2015 Global Moderator Posted July 27, 2015 I've been in a 6 man league for years, and use pretty much the player format that iabass8 has proposed. We allow changes if a rostered player is placed on IR and allow an additional 5 FA changes during the year with no charge. Anything over the 5 we have to pay.. Point is we can still have a competitive league with what we have now if noone else signs up. Mike Quote

Mike you're totally right. everybody in theory has a great team the smaller the league. i'd probably make shallower benches to make it really interesting (something like 3-4 max bench spots). we'll figure something fun out. this league is happening. Hurricane Posted July 27, 2015 Posted July 27, 2015 I'm fine with an 8 team league even with a full bench.. Doesn't matter to me.. Love playing fantasy football.. Quote
mackroper Posted July 27, 2015 Posted July 27, 2015 Oh yeah. Smaller league means everybody has good weeks. Makes it pretty competitive Quote
Super User Jrob78 Posted July 27, 2015 Super User Posted July 27, 2015 I've played 8 team leagues before and it was awesome. Scoring is higher but everyone has the same shot at a good roster. Quote

Super User iabass8 Posted July 27, 2015 Author Super User Posted July 27, 2015 Well if we can't find 1 more in the next couple weeks prior to the draft, my wife will fill the spot. I really want to avoid that but it might have to happen. She's.....competitive....to say the least. Not a good loser. 8 man league will have the same set up as posted but I'll probably make the benches 4 spots instead of 7. If this is stupid, please say so. In my head, this would stop people from "hoarding" RB2/WR2 types and make for an active waiver wire pretty much from week 4 on as nobody will likely drop their top 4-5 picks and paying attention to bye weeks will be important. Also, for those of you that constantly tinker with your line up after waivers go through on wednesday, staring at the talent pool on the waiver wire will screw with your head all week =). Quote
Super User Jrob78 Posted July 28, 2015 Super User Posted July 28, 2015 I've never played with a 4 man bench but I'm up for whatever. It will be fair for all of us, that's all that really matters. Does anyone know if you can play 2 teams in 2 leagues from the same email address on ESPN? It might be easier to keep it separate anyway, I don't know. Quote
mackroper Posted July 28, 2015 Posted July 28, 2015 You can be in as many separate leagues as you want. I'm down for 8 man, 4 player bench 1 Quote

Super User iabass8 Posted July 31, 2015 Author Super User Posted July 31, 2015 update original post as we have minimum amount of members and an agreed upon payment method. For those participating, how do you guys feel about the defensive scoring for return yards? I can add 1 point per 10 yards for kick return and punt return if you guys like. This is super fun and causes defenses to matter much more picking them. The only thing I cannot add is 10 yards for return yards during an INT. So a Pick 6 will only net you 8 points (6td + 2 INT) and get you no return yards but a kick returned(punt of kick off) for a TD can potentially net 16 points (6 td + 100 yards at 1 point per 10 yards return). for the most part, an average defense in this type of scoring is usually around 12 points with some teams scoring 25+ each week and others scoring less than 6. If you guys want, I'll add this. If not, no biggie. Quote
Global Moderator Mike L Posted July 31, 2015 Global Moderator Posted July 31, 2015 I say go ahead. It will add another dimension to the scoring which can have an unexpected positive effect for low scoring teams. It also will put a greater emphasis on drafting a certain defense over another, considering the special teams scoring twist. Mike Quote
mackroper Posted July 31, 2015 Posted July 31, 2015 I think the defense scoring is an awesome idea. Quote
