nixdorf Posted July 15, 2015 Posted July 15, 2015 I'm wondering if anyone is aware of an AC adapter I can use to power my Lowrance Elite 7 HDI sonar. I store my boat away from my house, but pull all valuables off the boat before I head home. I'd like to use my sonar at home when it's not on the boat (review maps, etc). Anyone aware of an option for powering my sonar when it's not on the boat? Quote
Super User Wayne P. Posted July 15, 2015 Super User Posted July 15, 2015 I do that with my Humminbird units. Just need a power cord and a power source. I use converters from Radio Shack. http://comingsoon.radioshack.com/radioshack-13-8vdc-19a-power-supply/2200508.html#.VaZa765qyWI Most of the time I have at least two models on/beside my desk. As I type this, I have three. This is four units powered and one connected to a TV on the wall. Quote
nixdorf Posted July 16, 2015 Author Posted July 16, 2015 Wayne, you are the man. How do you hook up the DC power supply? Just buy a power adapter for your sonars and wire it in to the power supply? Quote
Super User Wayne P. Posted July 16, 2015 Super User Posted July 16, 2015 With the Radio Shack power supply in the link, you just connect the unit power cord red and black wires to the connectors on the power supply. Don't need anything else. That means you purchase a power cord that fits your unit (that is a Lowrance accessory), and the Radio Shack power supply. My setups are a little more complicated, but you don't need to know all of that. Quote
