Sundance Posted July 14, 2015 Posted July 14, 2015 I'm looking to stream line my tackle so I'm carrying just the things i use and not everything i own lol. I'm looking for somthing that holds 2-3 3700 sized boxes vertically with plenty of pockets for scents other misc. items for 50$ or less. For my plastics i was looking at the Plano Guide series worm binder does anyone use it and how do you like it? Quote
Super User Jar11591 Posted July 14, 2015 Super User Posted July 14, 2015 Field and Stream (which I believe is exclusive to Dick's Sporting Goods) makes a great bag, which is what I use. It fits 4 3700 boxes, plus a small box or two. It also has two side pockets, a top pocket, front pocket and a net-pocket on the back. Quote
Super User Master Bait'r Posted July 14, 2015 Super User Posted July 14, 2015 I use the Plano 3600 soft sider bag because it's the biggest bag that will fit in my kayak. I love it and it has served me well over the years. Quote
Super User HoosierHawgs Posted July 14, 2015 Super User Posted July 14, 2015 Okeechobee Fat's makes a good bag. Can be found at Meijer for 40 bones. http://www.cabelas.com/product/Cabelas-Fishing-Utility-Bag/1282004.uts?No=0&destination=%2Fcatalog%2Fbrowse%2Ftackle-bags%2F_%2FN-1100378%2FNo-0%2FNs-CATEGORY_SEQ_104619780%3FrecordsPerPage%3D18 This one is 10 bucks, but no free shipping Quote

Super User FishTank Posted July 15, 2015 Super User Posted July 15, 2015 I have been eyeing this one from Gander Mountain. http://www.gandermountain.com/modperl/product/details.cgi?pdesc=Gander-Mtn-Fishing-Tackle-Bag-Blue&i=778152 Quote
jtharris3 Posted July 15, 2015 Posted July 15, 2015 I just picked up the Plano 467310 3700 GUIDE SERIES™ TACKLE BAG. Holds 6 - 3700 boxes. It's pretty nice! Quote
Hogsticker Posted July 15, 2015 Posted July 15, 2015 I 2nd the Plano softsider bags. I have the 3700 and it's awesome. I can't stand a bag that doesn't have a hard bottom to keep everything erect and accessible. Quote
robster80 Posted July 15, 2015 Posted July 15, 2015 i just bought that plano 3700 softsider x during the TW sale. ive got the 3600 as well. love the hard bottom and theyre plenty roomy Quote
Super User HoosierHawgs Posted July 15, 2015 Super User Posted July 15, 2015 I have been eyeing this one from Gander Mountain. http://www.gandermountain.com/modperl/product/details.cgi?pdesc=Gander-Mtn-Fishing-Tackle-Bag-Blue&i=778152 The Okeechobee Fats bag I recommended is the exact same bag and is 40 bones MSRP (not on sale) at Meijer on Dan Jones Road in Plainfield. It does not come with boxes inside, but the bag from Gander Mountain does, but they are Chinese Cheapo's, not even close in quality to Flambue or Plano boxes. Just an FYI. Quote
Global Moderator Mike L Posted July 16, 2015 Global Moderator Posted July 16, 2015 Check out the "AZ" line of bags from Flambeau. I use the AZ 8 which is the largest, but I like to take more than what I need. They're not to wide or long but more rectangular I guess which is perfect if fishing from someone else's boat and space is a premium. They have all the right pockets, in all the right places in all the right sizes. Mike Quote
Brnnoser6983 Posted July 16, 2015 Posted July 16, 2015 Save money with school coming up and buy a backpack. I use my son's old one. It fits 3 3700's nicely and one 3600. Plus it has 3 large pouches for storing scents, baits and what not. Quote
Kidflex Posted July 16, 2015 Posted July 16, 2015 Try the midway usa competition range bag. Not designed for fishing but is more practical than any of my fishing bags. Holds 4 3700 and can put a 3600 in each of side pockets or can hold 9 3600 vertically. The pockets has places to put pliers, scents, etc. Plus it's better quality than most fishing bags. http://www.midwayusa.com/product/939167522/midwayusa-compact-competition-range-bag Quote
Sundance Posted July 17, 2015 Author Posted July 17, 2015 I like the look of the AZ3 but how big are the flambeau 3003 containers compared to the Plano 3700? Quote
BassTravis Posted July 17, 2015 Posted July 17, 2015 Bass Pro Shops makes alot of durable bags that come in a wide variety of sizes Quote
Global Moderator Mike L Posted July 18, 2015 Global Moderator Posted July 18, 2015 I like the look of the AZ3 but how big are the flambeau 3003 containers compared to the Plano 3700? Don't know sundance, I have the big one (AZ 8) and the Plano 3700 fit's perfect. Mike Quote

It does OK.... I think this one with the bag only is a better value. A nicer bag at a lower price, and you can use your existing boxes, which is a bonus. http://www.basspro.com/Bass-Pro-Shops-XPS-Stalker-Backpack-Tackle-Bag-or-System/product/1304050935/ Quote
