I love MHX and they do cast like a dream, and are unbelievably sensitive. But the comparison between the waveguide system and regular micro guides is a noticeable difference that deserves reiteration on this thread. Quote
Delaware Valley Tackle Posted March 8, 2016 Posted March 8, 2016 I've seen the results and am a believer in the spinning set. Casting is a whole other application and I'm not sold on the theory and claims. They're decent guides but I'd bet if you stripped that blank rebuilt it with another guide train and proper spacing you'd get the same results. You have to be careful too comparing Microwave with micro guides. Two different things. The Microwave running guides are 5.5 the largest of the size range referred to as "micro". If you're comparing your setup to something running 4s or 3s that might be the difference and not so much the custom stripper. 1 Quote
Western-Mass-Bass Posted March 9, 2016 Posted March 9, 2016 Both of my spinning set ups have these guides, If you ever get the chance to cast one. You will be a believer...... Quote
TrippyJai Posted March 10, 2016 Posted March 10, 2016 Never used these guides before, but doesn't anyone else think that they are ugly? Almost like training wheels on a bike. Quote
Delaware Valley Tackle Posted March 10, 2016 Posted March 10, 2016 They're like any othe except for the stripper. Function over form. I can get the similar results with the Fuji KR guides but it's more involved and not as forgiving of reel size changes. Quote
BassResource.com Advertiser FD. Posted March 12, 2016 BassResource.com Advertiser Posted March 12, 2016 I have built several rods now with the microwave set up. The spinning guides work absolutely as advertised. I will not build another spinning rod for myself without them. The casting not so much. Quote
