Super User Choporoz Posted July 13, 2015 Super User Posted July 13, 2015 Check out the second of the 'rotating/alternating messages on top page of this site: http://anglersprotackle.com/ I don't know if the words were the work of the retail store or from Megabass....either way, it is none to subtle....I'm torn between admiring it and being just a little bothered by it. "WHEN GETTING LUCKY JUST WON'T MAKE THE CUT. MEGABASS." Quote
Super User Choporoz Posted July 13, 2015 Author Super User Posted July 13, 2015 Please don't make this into a bashing of either company. I'm strictly talking about the advertising/marketing on display here. Quote
Super User J Francho Posted July 13, 2015 Super User Posted July 13, 2015 Not very subtle at all, lol. Clever. Quote
BassResource.com Administrator Glenn Posted July 13, 2015 BassResource.com Administrator Posted July 13, 2015 I'm not seeing the ad. But rest assured, this is a Google ad, not a Bassresource sponsor. Quote
Super User MarkH024 Posted July 13, 2015 Super User Posted July 13, 2015 I thought it was bold and clever. Both companies have their fan base, most of which probably dwell between the both. Why would it bother you if you have 0 affiliation with either company? Quote
Super User MarkH024 Posted July 13, 2015 Super User Posted July 13, 2015 I'm not seeing the ad. But rest assured, this is a Google ad, not a Bassresource sponsor. Its a rotating banner ad on the website he linked, not a google ad. You have to visit the page to see it. My initial thought was this was about the two sub services that have had battling google ads. Super User Choporoz Posted July 13, 2015 Author Super User Posted July 13, 2015 Mark, just because I tend to cringe at what I consider 'negative' advertising. In my idealized world, any quality item should be able to maintain a positive ad campaign on the merits of the product being hawked. Quote
BassResource.com Administrator Glenn Posted July 13, 2015 BassResource.com Administrator Posted July 13, 2015 Ah, ok. I thought it was about an ad on THIS site. LOL! Quote
Super User Master Bait'r Posted July 13, 2015 Super User Posted July 13, 2015 Mark, just because I tend to cringe at what I consider 'negative' advertising. In my idealized world, any quality item should be able to maintain a positive ad campaign on the merits of the product being hawked. That's kind of a reach, man. As someone with a marketing background, that's not only fair game but par for the course when your major competitor has a punny name instead of something proprietary. 1 Quote
Super User buzzed bait Posted July 14, 2015 Super User Posted July 14, 2015 i'm not one for bashing and so forth either, but i also love a clever marketing campaign and this one is pretty witty..... Quote
Super User J Francho Posted July 14, 2015 Super User Posted July 14, 2015 Anyone see the ad with "the other KVD" on all fours? Hysterical, and a direct poke at the comp. 1 Quote
Rhino68W Posted July 20, 2015 Posted July 20, 2015 This is a great shop, that I actually shop at. I can imagine it was a Megabass ad, not theirs. Quote
