Southmike1 Posted July 11, 2015 Posted July 11, 2015 Just wondering how many here fish Mississippi waters? Quote
Super User Long Mike Posted July 12, 2015 Super User Posted July 12, 2015 Does Pickwick count? I love that lake. Quote
Southmike1 Posted July 12, 2015 Author Posted July 12, 2015 I guess it could. I personally am ashamed to say i have never fished it. Hoping to change that this fall. Quote
gtownreb Posted July 13, 2015 Posted July 13, 2015 I'm from Grenada, most of my bass fishing is done in ponds though. It's getting better on the lake in recent years though. Quote

ThatZX14Fella Posted July 14, 2015 Posted July 14, 2015 I'm close. Lol I live in Alabama. Thought about going to get a temporary license and see how the fishing is across the line. Quote
gtownreb Posted July 14, 2015 Posted July 14, 2015 I have heard grenada is getting better. Least you still got huge crappie. Yea they restocked bass, bream, and several other species and the water has stayed up the last few summers really helping. The crappie fishing is a blessing and a curse if you know what i mean Quote
Southmike1 Posted July 15, 2015 Author Posted July 15, 2015 Oh yeah I can imagine how the crappie could be a curse. I managed john Kyle state park for awhile and it was a mad house in the spring. Demonic forest where in bama you from? Quote

SHaugh Posted July 16, 2015 Posted July 16, 2015 I just got back from a trip to Tupelo. There's a 300 acre lake near there that is pretty much guaranteed to have the next state record fish in it. Called Davis Lake... right off the Natchez Trace parkway. I Caught a few 5+ lb fish on a 100 degree day, But you know they're in there if you time your trip right... Beautiful deserted lake, wild shoreline, first class ramp and facilities: A guy caught a 17+ pounder there not too long ago: http://www.ms-sportsman.com/details.php?id=2038 Quote
