Fished a private pond this morning with a fellow HOW volunteer and my son. My son missed a few but caught a couple on this slow and hot day. My buddy missed several bass blow ups on his hollow bodies frog. I on the other hand had a decent day. Managed seven total on the day, the most memorable being my first ever citation fish out of the kayak. This big girl breached the pads like Air Jaws and was an absolute fatty! She nailed my Clone Frog with a purpose! She measured out at 22.75". An awesome day!

First Citation ever!!

Nice fish. Just curious if you got a weight? At 22.75 she should be holding some weight for sure!

Beautiful! The 6.6 in my avatar was the same

or right about the same length. I've got the

citation paperwork sitting on my desk. Never

sent it in, LOL.

Congradulations on the new PB.

Nice fish. Why not send in both sets of paperwork? The VA Citation has no time limit. The other is still valid if you decide to send it in.

The scale wasn't certified, and I'm not killing a fish on the chance it may be a weight citation. I practice C.P.R. In fresh water. That's Catch, Photo, Release so that someone else might experience the same feelings I did.

It's called a Hawg Trough and can be found for $15-20 online all over the U.S.

Do you happen to know if they also offer the "Dink Trough"  ?

I'll be needing that one.

Well the measurement marks start at 8" which may cause self esteem issues for some

Thanks Hanover_Yakker, based on the pic I was able to find the company that makes that particular trough. Thanks again. ;)

Not a problem. If you have any kayak retail shops in the area, they normally carry them in stock on the shelves with their own logo on them. They're all the same though.

Good to know. I don't have a yak, but the concept of the trough is appealing. I see it secures the fish better than a regular ruler.

The trough does work great, but they can be "brittle" as

they're not the strongest things out there.

There's one by Plano that is a bit more sturdy, can find

at Walmart. I've got one though I don't use it much at

this point.

Have had to repair my trough a number of times.

All that said, they hold fish great...

Darren I went ahead and just ordered a trough by Frabill. It floats, its adjustable, and it ran me $13 from Amazon with free shipping. ;)
