I am interested in buying/making some 3/8 oz. football jigs, and was going to buy the jig heads off of Barlow's. I have a couple questions about the skirts I would need and how to put them on. First, what material will I need? Silicone, rubber, I'm lost. Second, whenever I try to get the skirts on a jighead, I completely ruin the skirt. Any help? Thanks so much.

go to www.fishingskirts.com and look at their selection of skirts. Also check out the skirt tool which only costs $4. You can get the bands from them also.

Then all you have to do is put the band on the tool, take the hook part and pull a couple of skirt tabs in the cylinder and roll the band off.

You will need something to put the skirt on the jig head. I use snap ring pliers.

When the skirt is on then trim it with scissors.13_26_04_09_4_08_55.JPG

I was thinking the same thing until I saw how many skirts Barlows had.  I got lazy and just ordered heads and skirts from them :)
