Balshy Fishing Posted July 8, 2015 Posted July 8, 2015 Still, the best place to get bass fishing advice so shoutout everybody on here! I'm about to put in an order to TW to restock! Any advice on a good shakeyhead to use? I've used the MegaStrike Shake 2 and can't remember how my results were. Are Rage Structure Bugs still producers? I only have PB&J left, is Summer Craw the other color that produces? I'm basically looking for jigs, shakeyheads and maybe a good crankbait and jerkbait. Basically, just suggest something I should purchase in every category here as far as bait goes and that'll help me out big time! Just upgraded to Fluorocarbon as well so I plan on getting some better results with shakeyheads! Thanks guys. Much appreciated! 1 Quote

thirtysixit Posted July 9, 2015 Posted July 9, 2015 I'm not a shaky head guy so I can't speak on that topic.... However, I do love me some Revenge flip jigs and football jigs. Craw and brown colors and put a Rage Tail menace grub on as the trailer. As far as crankbaits go, you can't go wrong with 6th Sense cranks. They are quality out of the box and come in great colors. Happy hunting! Quote
Super User deep Posted July 9, 2015 Super User Posted July 9, 2015 Jerkbaits, eh? Flashminnow, Slender Pointer, Pointer SP and Staysee in whatever sizes you'd feel comfortable fishing. Ghost minnow, chartreuse shad, chartreuse blue and pearl threadfin shad are my favorite colors. Quote
Joe H. Posted July 9, 2015 Posted July 9, 2015 X4 on the owner ultra heads. Idk what works in your area but yes summer craw structure bugs are great Quote
Balshy Fishing Posted July 9, 2015 Author Posted July 9, 2015 Thanks guys! Keep the suggestions coming! Quote
Super User Cgolf Posted July 9, 2015 Super User Posted July 9, 2015 For swim jigs, I really like the Santone Rayburn swim jigs. I recently fished milfoil and this head came though clean more times than not and it also has a flat bottom which is a bonus. As for Crankbaits can't go wrong with the Bandit 100 for shallow lake and river bass, they flat out catch fish. Quote
Jon G Posted July 9, 2015 Posted July 9, 2015 If you want jerkbaits anything Lucky Craft rocks! My favorites are 100 sized Pointesr in American Shad, Aurora Black, and Ghost Minnow Structure Bugs are still good my favorite color is Watermelon Red Crankbaits that I would get are 6th Sense Crush 75x, Lucky Craft 1.5 DRS, Strike Kings (mainly a squarebill guy myself) Shakey heads I like the Megastrike Shakey2 Quote
Balshy Fishing Posted July 9, 2015 Author Posted July 9, 2015 Which is better? Do I get the EWG, Pro Model or regular? Quote
Balshy Fishing Posted July 9, 2015 Author Posted July 9, 2015 Also, what weight for these? I'm having trouble deciding! Quote
Cgrinder Posted July 9, 2015 Posted July 9, 2015 You should strongly consider buying Siebert jigs and shakyheads. The quality for the money cannot be beat. Owner Ultraheads are pretty sweet though. They let me fish shakyheads in grass, which is neat. Quote
Balshy Fishing Posted July 9, 2015 Author Posted July 9, 2015 See, I bought a few jigs from Siebert...do you have any specific recommendations for shakeyheads from Siebert? I'm debating what I want to do. I'm going to start using the VilleCraw and Rage Bugs again. I'm not sure what else I should try. Quote
*Hank Posted July 9, 2015 Posted July 9, 2015 +1 to the Owner ultra heads! It`s the only shaky head i use now. Quote

blckshirt98 Posted July 9, 2015 Posted July 9, 2015 Also, what weight for these? I'm having trouble deciding! I usually go 3/16, but just remember to add on the weight of whatever plastic you're using...standard 5" senkos are like 1/3 oz so you might wanna go lighter if you're using something that large. Personally I think the Structure Bugs come apart too easily, so I use different Rage baits like the Craw and Lobster. Quote
