heyitzpetah Posted July 6, 2015 Posted July 6, 2015 My favorite fishing technique is probably either crank bait or top water. After fishing something fast it becomes so hard for me to slow things down and use something like a dropshot/texas rig worm. Thus, I get super impatient that I can't cover a whole lot of water in a short amount of time. I suppose if you want to catch fish you gotta do what you gotta do and give em what they want right? 1 Quote
Steveo-1969 Posted July 6, 2015 Posted July 6, 2015 Most favorite: Jig or t-rigged plastic. Least favorite: Crankbait or topwater (aversion to treble hooks). HA!!!!! 1 Quote

Super User A-Jay Posted July 6, 2015 Super User Posted July 6, 2015 My favorite technique is what ever I brought with me, expect to catch fish with & actually do. My least favorite technique is when the above technique does not produce. So it changes for me - quite a bit. A-Jay 3 Quote
Todd2 Posted July 6, 2015 Posted July 6, 2015 Most Favorite - Jig, it produces bigger fish for me. Least Favorite - Jig, detecting strikes can be a pain. We're told to swing if you feel anything different. If I did that I'd set the hook about 10 times per cast on every rock or tree I hit. 3 Quote

You might consider trying a weedless swimbait fished on top of your favorite jig coverts. Bass often hook themselves on swimbaits, and if there's any difference in mean size it might be upward Roger 1 Quote
Super User Raul Posted July 6, 2015 Super User Posted July 6, 2015 I hate soft plastics and jigs. I like spinnerbaits n´cranks. Least productive but immensely fun are top waters. 1 Quote
Nice_Bass Posted July 6, 2015 Posted July 6, 2015 Least favorite= Junk fishing If I have 2-3 rods on my deck it was a great day fishing, when I have 6 or more it is not a good day at all. Favorite changes with time of year, but for year round I guess a big plastic worm texas rigged. Quote
Super User the reel ess Posted July 6, 2015 Super User Posted July 6, 2015 Fav: Topwater Frogs (not my best technique, but the most fun I can have with my clothes on when it's working). Followed by all topwaters and wacky rig. I enjoy the techniques where you don't have to crank on the reel as much due to shoulder issues and using a kayak to fish from. Least Fav: Well, dropshot, I won't even try. Jigs (I just use T-rigs instead). I don't think I want to spend all day deep cranking anymore. Quote
Super User Felix77 Posted July 6, 2015 Super User Posted July 6, 2015 Fav: Finesse Swimbait Least: Crankbait ... can't seem to get them working for me. Quote
Shanes7614 Posted July 6, 2015 Posted July 6, 2015 Favorite is spinner bait buzz bait combo depending on water temp. Least favorite is drop shotting although it does work and can produce pigs. Quote
Super User Senko lover Posted July 6, 2015 Super User Posted July 6, 2015 My absolute favorite way to catch fish is on a buzzbait. I really don't have a least favorite. I don't care for cranking, but it produces sometimes and I've caught some good fish on crankbaits. Honestly, I'll throw whatever I need to. I caught my PB dragging a bait like a Carolina rig . 1 Quote
Ozark_Basser Posted July 6, 2015 Posted July 6, 2015 It changes for me periodically, but the hollow body frog is definitely at the top of the list most of the time. I guess if I had to pick a least favorite, it would be the Carolina rig solely to the fact I never use it. Quote
Jon G Posted July 6, 2015 Posted July 6, 2015 Favorite: Tie between Jig and a Bladed Jig] Least Favorite: Punching, to me its boring and tiring 1 Quote

Jon G Posted July 6, 2015 Posted July 6, 2015 Punching= tiring from catching pigs all day!!! Lol Biggest punching fish I've gotten was barely 2.5lbs. I'm terrible at finding big fish in the thick stuff lol. I just get exhausted catching a 1lb bass and 12lbs of weeds lol. 1 Quote
Super User Jar11591 Posted July 6, 2015 Super User Posted July 6, 2015 Favorite by far is a topwater lure in open water, such as a popper or spook-type. Least favorite: spinnerbaits. Never ever ever ever have even had so much as a strike from a bass. Great pike bait though lol. 1 Quote
Super User the reel ess Posted July 6, 2015 Super User Posted July 6, 2015 Punching= tiring from catching pigs all day!!! Lol Punching is something I want to try. There are mats of lilies in my bud's pond. I've used the frog there, but never tried to punch. Quote
