Rod will be a 6'6"-7' medium rod for all purpose finesse (Weightless Texposed Sticks, Light Weight Texas Sticks, Weightless Wacky, Weighted Waky, Dropshot, and Shaky Head Worm). Would you recommend putting 7# Sniper or 20# Braid on this rig? I will be using it in a small creek, as well as from a kayak on a larger body of water, and from the bank on small reservoirs. Thanks! Super User QUAKEnSHAKE Posted July 3, 2015 Super User Posted July 3, 2015 If you're on the bank throwing wacky stick or texposed any distance you may regret 7# fluoro. I use 10 and 12# sniper and miss hook up at distance 75'-100' due to stretch at times. Unless the 7' medium is on the stronger side for a medium rod. Too If you will encounter any more than moderate weedy situation or matts 15-20# braid will let you toss in weeds on matts with better confidence to get it out away. Will be able to work the stik through weeds better/easier as well. I would also say 10# braid would be good, I got a previous PB with 10# braid tossing topwater frog on slop with 6'6" M/F rod. If you're in mostly open waters close quarters then try the fluoro with the line management hassles sprays what not. Drop shotting twist will effect fluoro worse than braid. Throwing wacky rigs put lots of line twist in line the stick spins like propeller at times. Quote

blckshirt98 Posted July 7, 2015 Posted July 7, 2015 12-15lb braid with 6-8lb Sniper for a leader. You won't have to change the braid out for years, just add some on as your initial spooling gets low as you remove braid off as you tie knots and whatnot. I agree the 20lb braid is a bit much. Quote
Super User FishTank Posted July 7, 2015 Super User Posted July 7, 2015 I would go with the sniper and forget the braid. I just like FC for this type of application especially from a kayak. I have been using 6lb Trilene xl 100% FC and haven't had an issue yet. Quote
