smr_hga Posted July 1, 2015 Posted July 1, 2015 I've heard people talking about golden bass or golden black bass etc. Before but i dont know what they mean. I've also seen a youtube video where someone caught a bass and said it was a golden bass. Is there such thing as a golden bass or golden black bass etc? If so how rare are they and are they actually a species or just an "albino" bass? Quote
Super User RoLo Posted July 1, 2015 Super User Posted July 1, 2015 Any bass over 9 pounds is "GOLD". Over 12 pounds, that's "PLATINUM" Roger 5 Quote
Super User the reel ess Posted July 1, 2015 Super User Posted July 1, 2015 They're largemouth that have beeen in deep and/or cold water long enough to lose their dark green coloration. When they return to the shallows around the spawn, they'll turn green again. 1 Quote
SudburyBasser Posted July 1, 2015 Posted July 1, 2015 Golden bass are rare and are hidden in five lakes around North America. If you find one you win a tour of BASS HQ. Quote
