Kevin Beachy Posted June 30, 2015 Posted June 30, 2015 (edited) So, I take my reel apart to fix a minor problem, and while I was at it, I decided to clean and oil the inside of it(no greese, just oil), and when I put it back together, it reeled really really hard, and I don't know what t he problem is. I know It IS something wrong with the two gears that spin the worm gear and that is all? I'm just guessing but the gunk you removed may have been the grease that help keep your gears from binding. I think there is a series of videos that will be very helpful for you to watch. I got this from a member on here, and he said some of the stuff in it was upgraded, and thats about all I know about it... ~Kevin Quote
Kevin Beachy Posted June 30, 2015 Author Posted June 30, 2015 If you remember the "minor problem" I talked about in the first post that I had to fix, it was the whole problem! The problem was that I had to fix the little "tooth" that goes into the worm gear, and what needed to be fixed was the tooth didn't go down far enough, so I put something in to keep it down! Well it turns out that it was pushing it down TO much and that wasn't letting it go! ~Kevin Quote
Super User J Francho Posted June 30, 2015 Super User Posted June 30, 2015 It doesn't "let go" but just floats and drives the line guide back and forth. If it doesn't do that anymore, then it should be replaced, not pushed down with some added parts. Quote
