I'm going to go look at one of these that appears to be in super good condition tomorrow after work hopefully. Everything I've read so far online seems to be fairly positive about this boat and the 150 Evinrude Intruder that's powering it. Anyone here ever own one or have any experience on something I should be warry about?

I cant say much on boat, not owning one but rangers from then are still popular and well liked in my neck of woods. I do have a boat with that motor though myself. Dad bought it new in 93 on a hydrasport we still use. Has been a very good motor. Always impressed us how quiet it is, esp compared to mercs. Only problem we had major on it was rectifier burnt up on water once. Other than that we had to have carbs rebuilt 3 years ago, but that was due to us not storing for winter properly and letting them gum up. Other than that its just changing plugs and water pump.

For winter storage now we simply crank up with "rabbit ears" on it and pinch off fuel line right past bulb. Let it run til it dies and crank it back up a few times to make sure fuel isnall gone from carbs. Since we began doing this havent had any problems in spring when firing it up.

Thanks for the input on the motor.  I talked to the seller on the phone and he basically said he has always been super happy with the motor.  I can't look at it until Thursday due to scheduling conflicts but I'm super excited after talking to him.  This could be my first bass boat purchase! :D

482's were a nice boat. As long as it's in good shape and being sold at a decent price it'd be a solid purchase.

It's the second boat here. Funny another 482VS just got listed that's a little newer, but the second one that I'm looking at is only like 1/2 hour from my house so that's why I'm so interested. I'm meeting him at a local lake tomorrow to take it for a spin and give it a good look through.  If everything goes well it should be mine beginning of next week :D.

I have a '98 481VS with a 150 Johnson FastStrike.    Basically the same boat except mine is a single console and basically the same motor as well.   I have owned mine for just about 13 years now and I am the second owner.   Very solid boat and no real complaints with it.   Perfect size for big water or small.  I have been out on Erie in 6 footers and it is small enough to get in between docks or up smaller creeks for tight small water fishing.     Pretty snappy out of the hole with a 4 blade prop.   Ranger customer service/parts department is the best.

Super late update since I forgot I made this post.  I BOUGHT IT.  I didn't get to use it a ton the first summer because I was living in an apartment in Metro Detroit, but my fiance and I got a house a little further away and it fits perfectly in the garage.  She may have been a little annoyed at me bringing a tape measure to every showing to make sure the garage was suitable :P.  So last summer I got to use it quite often. It's nice to be able to get home from work and be on the lake within 5 minutes, I picked a good spot to live.

Here she is.  The only thing I've really done is switch out the trolling motor and upgrade all the electronics at the Spring Classic sale last year.  Motor starts up right away every time and she runs perfect.  Going to hopefully do a re-carpet, get the bubble vinyl decals reprinted, wrap or paint some of the faded vinyl, and do a protec rotation on it once the wedding is paid for. But she looks pretty darn good the way she is :)

Beautiful boat littlefisher! My first boat was an '86 373V, so your post piqued my interest. In looking at the photos, she looks to have been VERY well taken care of and should give you many enjoyable hours on the water in the years to come. And congratulations to you and the future Mrs, wish you nothing but the best!. JB
