Anyone tried the new Nanobraid from Sufix?  Apparently only Cabelas is selling it initially but will be open to other outlets this Fall.  Haven't tried it but I read a post on another site that said it is very thin and long casting.  Stronger, more abrasion resistant and much better knot strength than that other product of a similar name from a different company - "Nanofil" (junk IMO).

Nanofil is junk above 8lb IMO.

Below that mark though, it is some pretty awesome stuff, I must admit.  I just can't get warm up to line stretch that is to be expected in the lighter ratings and even for light applications that require light drags to not bend hooks, it is just flat out better for me.  I really like Nanofil in the tiny diameters but it frays sort of easily- but at least it's very obvious when it's wearing out you if you're paying attention it's a nonissue.  I have yet to find something that lets me cast as far and still work the baits the way I want to, but this stuff certainly could be good...  I just hope it makes an improvement over what has existed for years already and isn't just a rehash.

As of now I won't buy it though, because of course it's freakin' white.  Why WHY do they do this???  Why they try to keep making clear superlines is beyond me but STOP IT ALREADY.  Nope nope nope.  Maybe I'll give it a try when they come out with a low vis green or a smoke.  Not before though, that's for sure.

They've made Nanofil in low vis green for awhile now.

I like Nanofil, but for me it's an open water, off the bottom presentation line ONLY. It's very technique specific but what it does well it does so much better than any other line.

Have not tried the line you're asking about OP, but all the Sufix braids I've tried have been good so I'd expect it to be as well.

There is a BIG difference between Nanobraid and Nanofil.  Agreed that Nanofil is junk.....  but Nanobraid is a different company, different line, material, etc ...  hoping it is a far better product.

Anyone tried it?  Might pick some up, not sure what their "Aqua-Camo" color is but would like to see it next time I'm at Cabelas..

Aqua camo is marketing speak for whatever color it naturally turned out as.

Wake me up when they make a lo-vis green or smoke.

Oh I know haha, it is the only Nanofil I'd buy! Still have a little bit somewhere. Not a fan of the white though.

It sure is weird stuff. What it's good for it's amazing for... Outside it's competency though- ugh. That 17# is just sad. It's like plastic cable.

I used the 10lb white Nanofil on my Ned rig rod for a long time and still would if I hadn't gotten a steal on some PP super slick. The stuff cast that little rig a mile and helps with strike detection and hooksets.

How long have you had that PPSS on there? I almost but on some but have heard mixed reviews. Interested to hear how it performs longer term, particularly fraying. I'd love to never buy Nanofil again honestly haha

I've been using it for 2 years now and like it pretty well. It seems to have flattened out pretty bad and I don't get quite the distance I use to but still cast plenty far, but not as far as nanofil does. I have Seaguar Kanzen on another rod and I've been really impressed with the casting distance, diameter, and how well it's stayed round so I might be trying that on my Ned rig rod once it's time to respool.

Yea I dont know whats goin on here..

I switch over many of my setups to nanofil 17# and have been more than pleased.. more casting distance and no breakoffs like I sometimes did with braid.

NO problems with knots at all, in fact my Tatsu 25# leader is breaking off more.. my mainline Nanofil hasnt broken off yet this season.

If the Sufix Nanobraid is anything like Nanofil or better I would certainly give it a shot!  These lines make braid almost obsolete imo.. if only they had them in higher #

Are you talking about PP Super Slick casting a mile and detecting hooksets OR Nanofil ?

Feel free to send me the rest of that 25# Tatsu ;)

I run straight nanofil with no leader. Great stuff, crazy sensitive. Broke off once when it got caught in a tree. I use the dark green 14lb

Both detect strikes very well, although the bright white Nanofil is easier for me to see. They both cast pretty well but the Nanofil does cast noticeably further.
