Let's get beyond the collections of reels that adorn many of your man cave shelves and admit to which reels are actually rigged ready for your next bass fishing trip whether it be by bass boat, kayak or foot...

I keep 7 reels rigged on my boat,  3 Abu Cardinal 802 spinning reels; 2 Morrum SX 1601C mags; 1 Revo Premier (2nd gen); 1 Shimano Chronarch 51e.

One of the Cardinal 802s and either the Premier or Chronarch come along when using my canoe or float tube.

A single Cardinal 802 accompanies me when bank fishing.

Occasionally all 7 boat reels get used on the same trip, most often 4 -5.

All of mine are rigged for fishing. None of them are man cave decorations that just sit. I really use a mix of technique specific gear and a few all around outfits. I do a combination of fishing so I tend to rig them for different scenarios. When I am at the helm of the boat I may take 10. If I am in the back I may only have 3-5. Fishing out of a yak I take one or two. Bank fishing smaller bodies of water I take 2-4. Occasionally I will get an invite to fish a private lake out of a ski boat. In this case I take 2 or 3.

All of may reels get fished and most covered with reel covers to minimize wear and tear.

I have Shimano Curados  , a  B.P S. Pro Qualifier , and Diawa Lexus rigged and in the boat.  I have a new Quantum Kinetic  and several round Abus ready to fish .  I also have two Quantum 1310 MG's mounted on flipping rods for going after carp and cats .

I buy them to use. All my favorites are ready to go. Just have to decide which ones to take. That's the tough part.

I can say the opposite. Have a Curado 301 sitting out cause I sold the musky rod it was on. Guess I'm just waiting to see if I want to have a really big bait (swimbait) rod for it some day

I have 9 casting combos ready to go and 5 spinning combos ready to go.  No shelf queens.  I guess the reels I use the most lately:  zillion 50th, metanium xg, alphas sv, tdz r+ and steez 103hla.

Most of mine are rigged and set to go.  Like others, it is only a matter of deciding which ones will go with me that day.  I do have a few reels sitting, but that is because I don't have an equivalent number of rods.  :sad78:

All of mine get used but some get used more than others. Plus as others say I have more reels than rods. I have an addiction to buying reels.
