BDfishing Posted June 28, 2015 Posted June 28, 2015 For spinning, do u wrap them normal or do u have to wrap them like micro guides, except for the both 2 guides the rest are small Quote
Super User MickD Posted June 28, 2015 Super User Posted June 28, 2015 I'm not sure I understand your question. All the guides are single foot guides. Wrap them all as you would any single foot guide. Micros are not wrapped differently than any other guides. What am I missing? Quote
Canyon explorer Posted June 29, 2015 Posted June 29, 2015 Spinning rods have to have larger guides or you get to much guide friction. Quote
BDfishing Posted June 29, 2015 Author Posted June 29, 2015 Forhan/ locking wrap or just normal wrap Quote
Super User .ghoti. Posted June 29, 2015 Super User Posted June 29, 2015 It's hard to make a locking wrap look good on the larger spinning guides. There's always a fairly large gap at the base of the guide foot. I've taken Scott Hovanec's advice, and left the locking wrap off of the larger spinning guides. Those guides have much longer feet, requiring much more thread, and finish. They have enough securing them to the blank that a locking wrap may not be necessary. I'm taking that approach with my next spinning build. Take what I say with a grain of salt. I'm a rookie at this.. Maybe Scott will chime in, and give you the pro's take on the subject. 1 Quote
BassResource.com Advertiser FD. Posted June 29, 2015 BassResource.com Advertiser Posted June 29, 2015 I don't like the locking wraps either. And they are not necessary with Micro Wave guides. They are built with a notch in the foot that locks the guides into the wrap. 2 Quote
