Hello, I'm just learning bass fishing from a kayak.  I'm from Ellicott City MD.  We have a tandem Ocean Kayaks Malibu 2XL that my wife and I paddle.  I'm using a Shimano Symetre 3000 spinning reel mounted on a 7'1" Shimano Compre fast medium rod.  Don't have a fish finder yet.  In my area in the past month, we've fished Rocky Gorge Reservoir and Centennial Lake.  Have only hooked two bass, a small one which was released and a large keeper that got off at the side of the kayak.  That's it for me.  Richard
