Bryce_Fishin24 Posted June 25, 2015 Posted June 25, 2015 Does anyone know a type of lure they've had good success in small lake/ stream trout fishing? I'm going up north and all there is are small intakes that turn into streams so I'll mostly be doing stream fishing. Rainbows, brown and brook trout are what I'm targeting. Quote
DevinFishing29 Posted June 26, 2015 Posted June 26, 2015 I suggest small spinners. Maybe try some berkley powerbait. I like using live worms. Quote
Super User buzzed bait Posted June 26, 2015 Super User Posted June 26, 2015 panther martin spinner 1/8oz my #1 is the black/yellow spots with gold blade, right behind it would be the yellow/red spots with silver blade Quote

Thank you (:, by any chance are you familiar with acme kastmaster spoons? I was considering those in a 1/4 oz , but I've never used them. Quote
Super User buzzed bait Posted June 26, 2015 Super User Posted June 26, 2015 nope, not familiar with those Quote
RB 77 Posted June 26, 2015 Posted June 26, 2015 I like in-line spinners and small spoons. My favorites include Mepps Aglia, Little Cleos, and Thomas Bouyants. Other classics include Panther Martins, Rooster Tails, Small Krocodiles, and Kastmasters, etc... Quote

I'm fishing in a small stream/ ponds here and there when I head up to bishop. The water about 3-5 at most in areas of that... I was thinking 1/4 oz but I'm not sure. I hear trout are finicky and like certain things. I just wanna catch them but off lures not powerbait, that's my last option, but if they take it I'll use it I guess. Quote
VolFan Posted June 28, 2015 Posted June 28, 2015 I would do 1/16 or 1/10 oz on the spinners/spoons or 1/8 at the most if you're talking small trout. My favorite is a 1/10 oz rooster tail in grasshopper, but white or black with a silver blade or brown and yellow with gold are good as well. Quote
Super User everythingthatswims Posted June 30, 2015 Super User Posted June 30, 2015 Trout magnet and/or gulp minnows on a jighead Quote
kcdinkerz Posted July 2, 2015 Posted July 2, 2015 Acme little cleos. Small fly on a weight and bobber Quote
Dillo Posted July 18, 2015 Posted July 18, 2015 Get some foam dry flies for fly fishing, tie it on and attach a bobber for weight... You will never enjoy catching a trout more than on a dry Quote
Global Moderator Bluebasser86 Posted July 18, 2015 Global Moderator Posted July 18, 2015 Little Cleo, micro chatterbaits, micro jig under a bobber. Quote
