Hi, I am planning on purchasing the metanium 13 and was wondering if anyone here can help me find a good all purpose rod? I plan on making this one of my last purchases for a long time, so I need a good quality rod preferably <300 dollar, 6'8-7'0 M or MH. I mainly throw light texas rigs/jigs, but would like the option to pick up some other duties if necessary, ie light spinner baits/cranks.

Loomis 843 or 853 IMX.  I have an 844 IMX and its a great all around rod.  Haven't used either of these, but take a look at them.

If you want something special, a rod built on a Rainshadow Immortal would perform very well and the titanium color would match the reel. If you go OTC St Croix is about as good as you can get at your price point.

I would suggest pairing it a new G Loomis rod I'm thinking about ordering. I'll send you my address....lol.

Too many good suggestions. I might have to go hit up the old tackle shop and try holding all of these again once my metanium comes in.

I read up a lot on JDM rods as well and they all seem nice such as megabass and majorcraft. Though, my only problem is that I wouldn't be able  to hold one and see how it feels with my metanium. I would be taking a leap of faith if i purchased one :o

I would find a classic gently used Loomis GLX. They can be had for under $300. I would also second the *** or Orichi XX rods.

Shimano Zodias

I have seen the shimano zodias, poison adrena, and expride at my local tackle shop. They felt really nice in hand, light, and seems tough. Anyone here who happen to own any of these rods can give me a bit more insight on them?

I own both of them but they are at different ends of the spectrum. My Zodias is a 7'2" H that I use for heavy t-rigs and my Adrena is a 6'10" M glass that I use for jerkbaits. Both rods are basically flawless when it comes to craftsmanship. The Adrena has an Aldebaran 50 on it and it is so light it is amazing. The Zodias has a Chronarch Ci4 on it and it balances really well and pitches like a dream.

This. Helium gets you NFC HM blank for under 300. Definitely worth taking a look at.

Yup, I've been looking up kistler a lot as well. Feels like the more i research the more rod options start piling up. If only I can buy more than one high end rod right now  :(

Then buy one of them now, thoroughly enjoy it, then get another when you save it up xD

I miss the days where I thought purchasing one expensive setup would keep the monkey off my back ;)
