PitchinJigz Posted June 23, 2015 Posted June 23, 2015 So I've got my mind set on buying the new Citica I. I'm a big Lew's supporter, but I figured it's worth giving Shimano a try. I'm buying the 6.3:1 model for spinnerbaits. I'll write a review after I get it out on the water. 1 Quote

Super User FishTank Posted June 24, 2015 Super User Posted June 24, 2015 Nice reel. I played with one at BPS the past weekend. It was cast well and really feels just like the Curado I. Quote

catch anything Posted June 26, 2015 Posted June 26, 2015 I hope shimano knows what there doing because the citica might end up selling more than the curado. Quote
k3bass Posted June 26, 2015 Posted June 26, 2015 I hope shimano knows what there doing because the citica might end up selling more than the curado. Even if it is identical to the curado people will still pay more for the curado. Then they will say that they've used both and the curado just feels smoother and more "refined". Quote
DTack Posted June 26, 2015 Posted June 26, 2015 Not trying to be rude, but hasn't Shimano always done this? Anyone remember the Citica E, or the Citica D, or the Citica G or the Citica bantam? They were just a different color and minor changes as well. Same ol same ol guys. Quote

DTack Posted June 26, 2015 Posted June 26, 2015 Ok So once again, what are the minor changes between the citica I and curado I? Didn't see where someone asked that question in this thread previously, sorry. Let me preface this by saying, I'm not saying the Curado is going to be effectively worth $30 more than the Curado at retail. I was just trying to say, there have always been minor differences and a high(er) cost difference between the Citica and Curado so I don't really see why everyone is so surprised with this one, maybe I'm just missing something. From what I can see: The Line Guide Insert is a different material. Spool is a different color, likely a different material (usually that's the case, or has been in the past). That's all my blind eye can see, I haven't handled a Citica yet myself. Quote
bootytrain Posted June 26, 2015 Posted June 26, 2015 I'm going to guess that the spool will be heavier in the citica Quote
PitchinJigz Posted June 26, 2015 Author Posted June 26, 2015 I'm going to guess that the spool will be heavier in the citicaPossibly. I've never looked in to spool weight specs and don't have a Curado so I couldn't compare. If you want to know I can try and weigh it when it gets here. Quote
