tucker1998 Posted June 22, 2015 Posted June 22, 2015 I have a tatula and really like it and it cast and feels solid, just want some opinions on the t-wing system. Will it hold up over time? Thanks Quote
BobP Posted June 22, 2015 Posted June 22, 2015 I read that Daiwa changed the T-wing system on the Tatulas. Will it hold up over time? Ask that question 2 years from now. Quote
Delaware Valley Tackle Posted June 22, 2015 Posted June 22, 2015 They're a decent reel. I own one myself. The T-wing isn't the casting super charger the marketing claims, but I knew that. As far as I can see the T should be durable, but as stated only time will tell. Quote
SenkoGuru Posted June 22, 2015 Posted June 22, 2015 I own 11 Tatula's and Tatula Type-R reels. I didn't get them as soon as they came out but I've had them for at least a year and they have been fished a great deal. They have held up just fine. They are not the super caster, that is true just like DVT has said but I do find that they require less effort to throw or pitch with. Quote
Super User Catch and Grease Posted June 23, 2015 Super User Posted June 23, 2015 It's a great reel, the T-wing hasn't caused me any problems yet. Quote
Super User kickerfish1 Posted June 23, 2015 Super User Posted June 23, 2015 Maybe I lucked out a bit my standard Tat on a Gen1 Cumara is a very far casting jig setup. Looks pretty stealthy too! Quote
SenkoGuru Posted June 23, 2015 Posted June 23, 2015 I did not mean that they are not great casting reels because they are. I meant they do not out cast my Shimano or Lew's reels like Daiwa is trying to say that they do. I am also a very big Daiwa fan so take this as you will. I love the Tatula reels though. Quote
kingmotorboat Posted June 23, 2015 Posted June 23, 2015 I love my tat type r and the thing cast a mile. But also I use it on my 6'10 mh fast tatula rod for spinnerbaits and jigs sometimes Quote
stkbassn Posted June 23, 2015 Posted June 23, 2015 Tatulas are great reels. I have found they cast very far with little effort. This is what makes me want more. I will give the edge to the Type R though. I know it's been said the difference may not be worth the extra dollars if you're talking retail but Ebay prices aren't that much higher on the R. I'll have more Type R's at some point, at least one to add back to the collection. Quote
