Super User slonezp Posted June 21, 2015 Super User Posted June 21, 2015 To light my way down the ramp at night. Used 5/16 x 4" galvanized bolts and thru bolted the mounts I went overkill on the wire. I could have run a single wire from the brake solenoid to the lights and just tapped the negative off one of the taillights. Instead I ran 16/2 rubber insulated the entire run. Thankfully I was able to fish it thru the framerail relatively easy. 1 Quote
Ski213 Posted June 22, 2015 Posted June 22, 2015 I like it. Have you had the opportunity to use them yet? Does it work well? I can always see my trailer cause it's lit up like a Christmas tree but often I can't see where everything else is in relation to it. That setup would solve that. Quote
Super User slonezp Posted June 22, 2015 Author Super User Posted June 22, 2015 Just installed them today. I'll probably put them to use next weekend Quote
Super User WIGuide Posted June 22, 2015 Super User Posted June 22, 2015 They look nice, I'm thinking of doing the same thing. My trailer doesn't have them so I'm usually left with tapping the brakes to light up whatever is behind, but back up lights would work so much better. Quote
Gotfishyfingers? Posted June 22, 2015 Posted June 22, 2015 Nice, take a pic of them in action next time your at the ramp.. Are they LED's? I've been thinking about adding some lights under the rear bumper of my truck. Quote
Smokinal Posted June 22, 2015 Posted June 22, 2015 Been thinking about doing the same but how did you tap into your vehicle reverse system? Quote
