Super User BassinLou Posted June 21, 2015 Super User Posted June 21, 2015 I was fortunate enough to head out to the Alley yesterday after being sidelined for a bit. It was great being out. We fished from 3pm to 815pm. Boat traffic was light, outside temps was 90 degrees, water temps varied between 90-92.5 degrees. Winds were ESE at 14. Skies were partly cloudy to overcast through out the afternoon and early evening. Perfect considering the heat we have been having lately. Baits used were HB frog and jig. The fishing was on the slower side. We had to work for every catch we boated. At the end of the day we boated 17, which for this time of year are low numbers. None the less we had a good time and had fun. Here are some pics of my bigger catches. Enjoy!! 3 Quote
SamTheHam Posted June 22, 2015 Posted June 22, 2015 It was a very weird weekend for fishing down in the glades. Quote
topwaterrob Posted June 24, 2015 Posted June 24, 2015 It has been insanely hot these past few days... Nice fish... Quote
FLStorm Posted June 24, 2015 Posted June 24, 2015 I've had 1 good trip out of my last 4 times fishing the Alley. With it being so hot and water not flowing, I think the oxygen is depleting. Seems like Mudfish are thriving this season. Some people tell me they are doing good flipping deep into cover. I should be on the Alley in the beginning of July. Hopefully I can catch a few of those bigger girls like those you caught. Quote

They are not hitting like crazy like they were several weeks back, but they are there none the less. Focus your attention around cover and work the ledges. 1 Quote
Red Shad Posted July 10, 2015 Posted July 10, 2015 I grew up fishing down there. Used to catch some great fish at Sawgrass, and Holiday Park. The Miami airport lakes never failed for Peacock Bass. Quote
