Is there a cost associated with launching a Kayak from Bull Run Marina?  I know that if you want a key you have to pay a fee, but is there any other cost?

I usually park up the road from the ramp in the public parking lot if I am shore fishing there, but I got a kayak this year and would love to take it out from a place not as crowded as Lake Ridge.

Bull Run is about 15 minutes from my house so it is ideal for me.  I am learning the Occoquan and the river up from Bull Run looks like it might hold some good fish.

Thanks.

Unless you purchase the pass and key, you will have to haul your kayak down the path from the public parking area.

Thanks for the input.  I actually got a key and a pass.  Went out last weekend, and caught about 6 smaller large mouths and lost a decent one at the boat. All were caught on a chatter bait.

I was fishing up river from the boat launch, but the water was pretty brown after all the rain.

Where do most of you fish from Bull Run Marina?  I am in a Kayak and usually only have about 3-4 hours to fish, so going too far down river would limit my time fishing.

Thanks

Usually upstream from the marina will be better. Narrow water makes them a little easier to target. Don't be afraid to get really shallow up on the flats, any little piece of isolated wood is a good bet! Good luck and let us know how you do!

Soft plastic creature type baits do well pitched to cover works well too!!

Thanks for the tips.  Hopefully I can go out tomorrow morning.
