I'd be interested in the KY lake trip depending on when it is.  If its mid to late month I will not be able to attend.

If the choice of date came down to Mike making a choice between when you could go, or if I could attend, my choice would to make the effort for you to attend.  I already have a trip booked in February to head north for Devils Lake perch, and making a trip to Kentucky Lake a week or so earlier was already in my plans.

Who knows, I might sneak down for Jack's Classic!

The boss and I we're just recently talking about our own roadtrip for 2016.

We decieded to run Rt 66 all the way to Pacific in our new motor home...

(I just Love this retirement gig)

Even tho we're both from Chicago which is where it starts, I really didn't want to drive that much out of the way being we live on the So West coast of Florida.

So we thought of picking it up in Oklahoma, which with a little time planning on the boss end, who I elected as our official navigator, we probably could make both, maybe one coming and one going!

Hmmm

That may work out. We had such a great time at the last Official Road Trip in 2014 and met so many people who I can still call friend, that we may have to work both of these in.

Anyway, as of now put me and Jeannie down for both.

I didn't have the pleasure of meeting Mr. Yates, but what better way to honor a members contributions than to have a permanent remembrance of a man that was obviously respected by the folks who knew him!

There was an article in Bassmaster about a fishing roadtrip on route 66. That would be so cool!

I can't speak for everyone that was on the trip this year. I think that is a great idea to name it for someone that contrubuted so much to this site.  It would be a small token of appreciation that would honor his memory for a long time to come. Might even be a good opportunity for those of us who did not have the pleasure of meeting him to get to know a little about him.  Mike, we have plenty time to plan a nice event.  I can't make a whole week but should be able to be there for weekends and maybe a couple of days during the week.  Let me know if I can help with anything, I have a travel trailer a few miles from Fin and Feather and I'm up there 2 or 3 times a month.  By the way, thanks for planning the last one.  We all had a great time.

The last time the Classic was here.....we all met for dinner.

We should do that a minimum......in addition to the two road trips.

I know and I missed out on it because we were staying in Grove instead of Tulsa. I think Big O was the only person we ran into walking around the expo the little bit that we did. Would be nice to get to meet a few people in person that I post with on here.

I think I'm in for the Kentucky Lake event.  I highly doubt I'd be able to make the Toledo Bend event.  That's quite a hike coming from Wisconsin.

While I won't be there, I think it's an admirable gesture to name the Toledo Bend event after Fishfordollars.

Is it just me or is it really hard to believe that was over 4 years ago already? He was a solid dude on the forums.

Hey, look who appeared out of nowhere; my old buddy Bill Dinky. LOL. How you doin Mike? Want to share a room again at Kentucky?

Sounds like a plan, assuming I am able to attend. I will still be in Florida and it's a long drive.

This coming from a man who probably drives 20,000 miles a year to attend various fishing events.  :laugh5:

Looking forward to seeing you again.

You do not need a boat to attend our Road Trips.  No one is left standing on the bank.  All you need is the desire to make new friends ... and maybe a rod and reel or two.

Then i am definitely down got the rods and reels covered and always up for meeting new people especially ones i have already learned alot from

I'll be coming from lake Charles buddy and I'll be bringing my aluminum with a 70 Nissan. I promise I won't leave a fellow Cajun on the bank
