Super User Long Mike Posted September 8, 2015 Author Super User Posted September 8, 2015 Is that where the launch is Yes that's where we are launching from on this trip. If you are referring to the Road Trip, I suggest you start with the first post on this thread for more information. Quote
Slefler Posted September 8, 2015 Posted September 8, 2015 Forgot to mention that we will be staying at Fox's lodge on Housen Bay on the Texas side. If you will be in the neighborhood let me know via PM. Cell phones don't work very well in that area, but at least we can try. I'll PM you when I'm out there but for this weekend and the Road Trip, when it comes to fishing licenses are you good with a Texas or do you need a LA license? For the guys travelling from neither state what do they need by way of licensing? Quote
Super User Catt Posted September 8, 2015 Super User Posted September 8, 2015 Texas or Louisiana license is acceptable but what ever side you launch on you follow that states laws. Quote
Super User Long Mike Posted September 14, 2015 Author Super User Posted September 14, 2015 Bert, my trip was a disaster. First day out I spun the hub on my prop. Second day out my trolling motor went south. Because there was no chance I could get the TM repaired on a week-end, I folded my tent and came home. My cajun cronies are catch and eat guys. Before I hit the road, the three of them had put nine keepers in the boat. I got a text today, telling me that as of lunch time they had put seven more in the boat, not counting a 7 1/2 pounder that was released. Our rule is that any bass that is five pounds or greater gets released. The lake is unusual this year because it stayed at such a high level for so long that it killed a LOT of grass. Most bass are being caught in the remaining grass in 3 to 6 feet of water. Quote
bighed Posted September 15, 2015 Posted September 15, 2015 d**n the luck Mike! Glad you have time to fix the boat before the road trip . Hopefully that grass is staging a comeback as we speak. Quote
Super User Long Mike Posted September 16, 2015 Author Super User Posted September 16, 2015 Bert, FYI, my buddies have returned from the trip. In five days with three of them fishing from one boat, they put 37 bass over 14" into the boat. At least 20 of them were over 3 pounds. They released two over 5 pounds and the 7+ I mentioned above. I wish I could have been there, but instead I spent $240 having my TM repaired and $100 having my prop re-hubbed. I think they had a little more fun than I did. 1 Quote
Super User Long Mike Posted September 30, 2015 Author Super User Posted September 30, 2015 For you folks planning on making the Kentucky Lake trip, I received an email today from Moors stating that room deposits are required no later than November 1. It was my understanding that the cabin/rooms I blocked would remain so until 30 days prior to our arrival. I have asked for clarification, but I just wanted to give you folks a heads-up. EDIT: I received an email from Moors today stating that deposits MUST be made by November 1, or the rooms I have blocked will be released. I know this is short notice, but Moors is such a popular place that they dictate there own terms. They are already taking reservations for 2019. When making your reservation, be sure to mention that you are with the Bass Resource group. Quote

What's the deal with boaters? My friends been wanting to go on a trip to KY but I dont know if I can get the boat down there. He's a rookie but I've fished it a ton. Wouldn't even have to leave moors to catch fish. Quote
Super User Long Mike Posted October 1, 2015 Author Super User Posted October 1, 2015 tbone, I'm not sure what your questions is, but BassinChris and I are towing our boats from Tulsa. It's a nine-hour drive for us. Moors has great launch facilities and covered slips for rent plus there is plenty of truck/boat parking available. As for non-boaters, there should be plenty of empty seats available. Quote

Pretty much answered my question. Don't know if I will have the boat if someone is using it for a tournament. Quote
BassnChris Posted October 12, 2015 Posted October 12, 2015 Don't forget y'all........gotta pay the deposit by November 1st to ensure your reservation is held for Kentucky Lake. Who all IS gonna make the trip(s)? I'm in for Kentucky and trying to arrange for Toledo Bend. Quote
Super User Long Mike Posted October 13, 2015 Author Super User Posted October 13, 2015 That's a very timely post Chris, especially for the Kentucky Lake trip. Ghoti will once again be hosting his Wine and Cheese Soiree. It's a great meet and greet occasion. Ghoti needs a fairly accurate head count in order to plan his menu and to know how much to spend at the liquor store. As for Toledo Bend, I need a head count also. Quote
Slefler Posted October 13, 2015 Posted October 13, 2015 My wife and I are gonna try and make the Toledo trip so out me down for two. Quote
BassnChris Posted October 18, 2015 Posted October 18, 2015 I have 2 beds available at the Kentucky Lake road trip......anyone interested in sharing a cabin? Let me know. Quote
Siebert Outdoors Posted October 19, 2015 Posted October 19, 2015 I wonder who took that other one. 1 Quote

BassnChris Posted October 20, 2015 Posted October 20, 2015 I heard that the greater Fin and Feather area are stockpiling taters! 1 Quote
BassnChris Posted October 28, 2015 Posted October 28, 2015 Just a friendly reminder.....reservations for Kentucky lake have to be paid by November 1st. C'mon y' all.....it'll be a great time! Quote
BassnChris Posted October 29, 2015 Posted October 29, 2015 Just got off the phone....reservation deposit paid for cottage and boat slip. WooHoo! Quote
Super User Long Mike Posted October 30, 2015 Author Super User Posted October 30, 2015 Heads up guys. Moors Resort told me this evening that no reservations have been made by Bass Resource members. Be sure to mention that you are with the Bass Resource group when you make your reservations. You have only a few days to do it or the rooms/cabins I have blocked will be released. The same thing applies to Toledo Bend. Tell them you are with Bass Resource. Quote
