Hey guys, awhile back I told the world how much I was disappointed in Seaguar (the idiots running the company)and with input from all of you I ended up buying bulk Sunline.

7# 10# 12# sniper and 12# super natural mono

So. The 12# on the 4 reels I put it on turned milk white within the first few outings and now feels "wirey". The 10#, on 3 reels, did not. The 10# I'm also using as leader material on my shakey head set up. It seems to fray extremely easily. Lost 1 fish due to a break off first cast after retieing on the new leader, it was completely frayed from uni to break point from weeds. As I forgot to bring spare line with me I used a friends Pline FC when I retied and no matter what I threw against, rocks, timber etc it did not fray at all. Had same leader all day only retieing between catches. However have had no issue with Sunline cranking. also haven't cracked open the 7# yet.

Had a 50 yard spool of Gamma Edge in 10# from I think MTB or LTB. Anyhow brought that with me yesterday and used it as leader on shakey head. That line is awesome! No noticeable fraying extremely limp, great knot strength as I got hung up and struggled to break off, and didn't turn milky.

Is the turning white typical with Sunline?? I have a reel with The same AbrazX for past 2 years on it and it's still clear. I don't get it. Also is it normal the 10# and lower to fray easy? I sure don't want to use the 7# if that's the case... Thoughts?

I switched to all Gamma this year and have been super please with ALL of their line. I use the Flouro in 6lb, 8lb, 12lb, and 15lb and all have been amazing. The CoPoly is great as well and the Torque braid is one of the better I've used too.

I will say one thing, I'm sticking with Gamma for flouro in the future.

Are you using line conditioner? It helps a lot with the wirery issue.

Sniper is my favorite fluoro all time but my second favorite is P Line. I think P line is just a slight tad more abrasive resistant but Sniper is more managable and last a lot longer.

Odd. I've had 12# Sniper on my cranking rod since March and that line has seen extensive use fishing around rocks, wood, and man made fish cages, and I have had no issues or breakoffs. Nor has it turned white on me. Perhaps you got a bad spool?

yessir KVD night before every outing then a squirt throughout the day if I'm using one rod continuously

Yeah the 12# is fishing fine, little to no abrasion it just turned white. The 10# is the abrasion prone line but it's still clear. All the rods have been on the boat deck simultaneously all the same outings. I don't get it. I'm more concerned with the milky color, idk how that affects the integrity of the line. I've heard about this happening but this is the first I'm experiencing it.

Hmmm maybe it is a bad spool. I have some 16lb one one of my jig rods that is now on its 14th month and is still going strong. Idk if it is possible but maybe you are using to much line conditioner. I spray my reels once a week and I average about 4-7 months before needing to replace it.

No thoughts, but a couple questions.  Have you used the 12# Super Natural yet?  If so, what are your thoughts about it?  I've used the 10#.  Hasn't seen much use, but hasn't caused any problem yet.

Well you guys have convinced me I need to try a spool of Gamma fluorocarbon. I seriously can't come across any negative reviews or statements pretty much anywhere. And that's anything but common. Regarding the Sniper, I've had spools that turned pretty white.

No not yet. Going to respool those reels this weekend possibly.

Ok so I'm not alone. I heard it could be because of excessive sun exposure. Who knows.... As far as the Gamma stuff. I've only used the little bit as leader on braid. Maybe 60 casts yesterday. Zero complaints.

So I called Sunline just to see if they've heard either on their end at all recently. Spoke with the guy for about a half hour. Great people they got over there. Gotta send in a couple pics and possibly a sample of the line. They said it shouldn't turn white at all the sun exposure thing is not true. So waiting to hear back from then. Will report.
