I have been trying to find a good fluoro recently for jerk/rip baits and cranks. Last evening at a tournament I was fishing Vicious 100% Fluoro in 12lb test and it was working flawlessly for 3 hours. Right around the time when we had a half-hour left I was setting the hook and the line snapped somewhere between my pole and the lure. I was frustrated but though maybe there was a kink in the line, and I was in a tournament so I need to keep a positive attitude. I tied on a duplicate of the lure I just lost (1/2 oz. Red Eye Shad) went to cast it and the line snapped at the reel! Just wondering if anybody else has had this issue with Vicious or if maybe I just got a bad spool.

Had a spool of the exact same line test and type bought from Walmart on clearance. Needless to say, after I opened the box, I immediately returned ( Too stiff and wire-like for me).

I really do not like that line . Vicious is far to stiff and wire like to me too. It is like fishing bailing wire.

I have never used their flouro, but I do use, "occasionally" vicious ultimate, a copolymer. Never have had a problem with it.

It's stiff, but you can pull the bottom of the lake up with it. I like the 12# for finesse jigs and T rigs, never used it for moving baits though. I guess I'm the oddball that likes the stuff.

I am in the same boat as Hootie--never used the flouro but I am a fan of the copolymer --works well for me

I've used the 100% fluoro that walmart sells, as well as their pro-elite fluoro. Never had any problems with either. I've used everything from 10-17 lb on the 100%, and 12, 14 on the pro elite

I stopped using vicious years ago for that and other reasons.

Check ur guides with a q tip. If nothing's damaged there, did you pull out a birds nest at any time? That can definitely cause a few kinks/weak spots. I wouldn't blame the line until I ruled out all other variables.
