quanjig Posted June 17, 2015 Posted June 17, 2015 You need to have a little more restraint 'lil fella. Most of us have seen more basketball or any sports for that matter than you have in your brief, limited understanding of the game in general. Do you think any other player besides Lebron could have gotten his "half" of a team anywhere close to a game 6?? He does just about everything any player can do and do them all exceptionally. He makes everyone around him better. That can be said of very few players in NBA history. 1

And yea he can do everything, but he can't win. When it comes down to it, he can't win. Period. Look at the stats of when lebron lost vs the mavs. And the Spurs... He tried to take over and lost. When he won back to back, both Wade and bosh were scoring about 20 a game at least for Wade. And even then Miami's bench came thru. So all these numbers you guys mention mean nothing with no finals win and finals MVP sorry
Bryce_Fishin24 Posted June 17, 2015 Author Posted June 17, 2015 2015 NBA Finals: Without LeBron on the floor JR Smith 0/9 FG Delly 0/7 FG Jones 0/3 FG Shumpert 0/2 FG Total 0/21 FG 3
preach4bass Posted June 17, 2015 Posted June 17, 2015 Bryce, your failure to understand sarcasm (Big C was clearly being sarcastic about Steph and Klay's Finals experience) is only outweighed by your failure to understand basketball. LeBron didn't choke.  He put a dilapidated team on his shoulders and took them to within two games of winning a championship. That's not choking!  Some of the game's best analysts were debating whether or not he should be named the Finals' MVP, even if the Cavs lost the series, because his play was so great. That's not choking!  So, he failed to win a championship his first year back in Cleveland. Big deal. Vegas is already placing the odds in favor of the Cavs winning it all next year. That's not choking.  The cute little statistic about everyone going 0/whatever without LeBron on the floor shows that those guys choked...not James.  The only thing you have proved is choking in this thread, is your ability to tear down one of the game's all time greats!

I would not say that the other players choked either. THey just showed their true ability without James In my opinion James game is more in line with Magics
Super User deaknh03 Posted June 17, 2015 Super User Posted June 17, 2015 Lebron had a great finals, statistically..the way I look at the greats is this way. There are many great players who have scored a ton of points and carried their team, but when its the 4th quarter of a finals game, thats like the final exam for great players. MJ,Bird,Magic,Kobe..they all aced the final exam, more than once..Lebron has continually failed that exam..Great player, yes, one of the best..not yet. He threw up some bricks last night in the 4th..and it seems to be his MO.
Bryce_Fishin24 Posted June 17, 2015 Author Posted June 17, 2015 Whatever man all I know all those numbers for nothing.... Plain and simple, all this talk about what he did and still no finals out of it, nor finals MVP. Sorry that's the truth

And like what you said he's not the best, he's up there but not the best? Yet? Ehh it's up to discussion on how the rest of his career and playoff career goes.
quanjig Posted June 17, 2015 Posted June 17, 2015 So would Robert Horry be a better NBA player, because he has 7 rings????
Bryce_Fishin24 Posted June 17, 2015 Author Posted June 17, 2015 In this case why not bring bill Russell because of his 11 rings, the point of the matter is there's a reason only sportscenter is on lebrons nuts all day, because he has the athletic ability like mj and Kobe and magic, bird and so on. There's only so much he can do he can play all positions basically that's why they compare him to those greats as well, but then again DOESNT have 6 or 5 rings or even 4 or 3 to be compared to those players. No matter what he does he can't win with big numbers.... Simple as that the man can not win even with the numbers he puts up.
Super User Jar11591 Posted June 17, 2015 Super User Posted June 17, 2015 I'm not a Lebron fan by any means. But to take away from what he did these Finals is ridiculous. So if Lebron choked, what would he have to do for you to consider him not having choked?

BassThumbAddict Posted June 17, 2015 Posted June 17, 2015 Basically, with the way The cavs were playing was pretty disgusting, Mathew dellevedova was an absolute let down after game 2-3. No one came thru   It's Mathew Dellavedova! Do you expect anything different?  Cavs starting lineup at the start of the NBA season: Lebron James Kyrie Irving Dion Waiters Anderson Varejao Kevin Love  In Finals: Only one left was Lebron James  Technically can you choke if you were an underdog?  If you remember right he lost the finals his first year in Miami too, then what happened?Â
Bryce_Fishin24 Posted June 17, 2015 Author Posted June 17, 2015 I do remember, and why did they lose? Lebron tried to take over... What happened during the back to back, he involved everyone including the bench. That's why they won. Look at Shane battier and mike miller and Chris Anderson how much those guys came thru and including Ray Allen. Look at that how much of a difference when your bench comes thru to help. Cavs are a nobody and the city of Cleveland has a lot to learn because the only thing they have left are the Browns which are complete trash. Indians as well as trash.

Bryce_Fishin24 Posted June 17, 2015 Author Posted June 17, 2015 You sound like a man ready to make a wager? Don't bother me.... Cleveland is a sorry city when it comes to sports.
Super User flyfisher Posted June 17, 2015 Super User Posted June 17, 2015 This is quite a comical thread...  The only team that a star took to the finals with less talent is Iverson taking the sixers to the finals in 2001.  I also find it funny how people compare him to MJ, Kobe etc.. and act like they never had a bad game or quarter or lost a game.  The facts are Lebron has as many game winners in the playoffs as MJ and more than Kobe (who is notoriously bad hitting the big shot).  He absolutely carried a team that had no business of being in the finals to the finals.  If either Kyrie or Love were available, the Cavs win that series.  http://www.sbnation.com/lookit/2015/6/17/8795727/lebron-james-stats-nba-finals-cavaliers-warriors-michael-jordan
BassThumbAddict Posted June 17, 2015 Posted June 17, 2015 Don't bother me.... Cleveland is a sorry city when it comes to sports.  Awfully narrow minded but does not feel strong enough to discuss a friendly wager. Also we were not discussing the lack of history with Cleveland sports. 1
Super User Jar11591 Posted June 17, 2015 Super User Posted June 17, 2015 Win the finals, all those stats mean nothing unless you bring home the trophy. All of those stats mean nothing? You are confused kid. So basically you're saying he should have won, against the best regular season team who are fully healthy and have the most depth of any team by far and against the regular season MVP, regardless of if his team is shaky at best? You're trying to reach for something to hate on him for but you don't make sense in your argument. The reason he put up those numbers, is because he had nobody, and he took the GS Warriors to 6 games. Lebron did anything but choke. He proved to the world 2 things; basketball is a team sport, and Lebron James is the most talented player at the TEAM SPORT of basketball on the planet. He literally could not have choked any less. When I saw the title of this thread I thought for sure it was a joke. If you're going to hate on Lebron, do it for his arrogance, whiny-ness and his search for a "ready-made championship squad" this offseason. But to say he choked is literally false. 1
Super User Jar11591 Posted June 17, 2015 Super User Posted June 17, 2015 Lebron did not lose these Finals! Golden State WON these Finals! 4

Bryce_Fishin24 Posted June 18, 2015 Author Posted June 18, 2015 Lebron can't simply do it simple as that.
quanjig Posted June 18, 2015 Posted June 18, 2015 Wait, he's got 2 rings sooooo, yea...... He can and has done it??!! Maybe you need to get a grasp of something a little more your speed, like jacks or checkers...... 1
Jd_Phillips_Fishin Posted June 18, 2015 Posted June 18, 2015 Lebron can't simply do it simple as that. He has no help. But if Kyrie was playing I still think GS would have won.
