EvanT123 Posted June 17, 2015 Posted June 17, 2015 Anyone else following this?. Pretty unreal. Never been up to the town where it happened. It's pretty amazing though with all these resources they haven't had a whiff of these guys. Quote
desmobob Posted June 17, 2015 Posted June 17, 2015 I can't believe they haven't been caught yet! The last inmates who escaped from a maximum security prison in my area (Great Meadow, 1977?), ended up being captured in a house a quarter mile from my house. I'll be toting the Glock on my L. Champlain fishing trips in case the two are paddling down the lake in a stolen canoe and are looking to upgrade. Tight lines, Bob Quote
Trek Posted June 17, 2015 Posted June 17, 2015 I think they had plenty of help from the inside and the outside. They cut through that steel and nothing was heard. Seriously ? To me it's just another reason to have a CCW. There's to many crazy's out there. Quote

That makes me think they did it during the daytime (rec hours), when it's usually a lot louder. Overnight I can hear almost everything, can even tell when there's a fight or something going on in the upper floors if I'm working downstairs. Still, there's always some kind of improvements going on somewhere in the building or something that has to be worked on that requires power tools that make lots of noise that I guess could cause someone to not think anything about it. Obviously, there was some help from within, even if it was just turning a deaf ear and blind eye. Quote
Catch 22 Posted June 20, 2015 Posted June 20, 2015 A lot of the locals have to be nervous about not having a serious means to protect themselves. C22 Quote

The prison where I was employed the fence was a kill zone, and we had motion sensors, touch the fence and it set off alarms. Add to that a roving two vehicle sentry patrol on the fence 24/7/365. I actually had a pizza delivery guy try to follow me around the fence once, thinking it was a short cut to the exit. Poor guy, I blocked him in, the other sentry pulled in behind, I came out with shotgun and the other guy removed him from the vehicle. After being cuffed, searched and a background check with the C.O G. He was escorted off the property, I always wondered how many free pizzas that restaurant had to provide because the delivery guy was detained at the prison. For those wondering, he was delivering during regular business hours to some of the support staff. Quote
