I have caught many fish off of Cotton Cordell's Crazy Shad (Chrome) and Heddon's Magnum Torpedo. Both are cheap but are effective, for me anyway.

Now I watched my granddad catch tons of bass off of a Dalton Special he bought back in the 50's. After he passed I got all his fishing stuff, but I won't fish that Dalton Special. I'm too afraid to lose it.

I have a 3/8oz chrome/black Devil's Horse that I wouldn't get rid of for anything.  When there's a topwater bite but the wind is up, there's nothing like it.

Heddon's Tiny Torpedo in the clear color is killer on schooly bass  :)

LC Splash Tail

Our unique ball-bearing double swisher propeller- "an industry first" -effectively reduces friction while making for a smoother, more rapid propeller rotaion. And thanks to the ball-bearing mechanism you can make the Splas-Tail swim over shorter pitch than any other swisher available today.

Matt,

I have a Dalton Special that I got a yard sale probably 20 yrs. ago. I just recently used clear polish to try and take care of cracks in the finish. I keep it in my tackle box and will use it (but not often) and if push comes to shove, I would go swimming for it ;D. I think it swings wider and farther than other walk-the-dog baits.

At the same sale I bought a Devil's Horse that is almost 6" long (biggest I've ever seen), haven't used it for fear of scaring fish.

Favorite would have to be Devil's Horse (not 6" one) and then smaller Spooks and Torpedos...

Right now it's the Bagley Bang-o Spin Tail, but I'm saving my dollars to grab some of those Megabass scream X's.  Once I get those, I'm thinking they'll be my favorite.

Black and Silver Rapala Skitter Prop by far.

It doesn't cast as well as baits like the Splash Tail but it catches way more fish.

Have had success with the mini torpedo black shiner.  Just picked up a NIP-I-DIDDE yellow/black frog off of ebay that I am anxious/hoping to try out this weekend.

Want to hear my sad story?

Tough  :)

Years ago, I had a heddon dying flutter, yellow/black.  It was the bass catchenest lure I ever had.

I'm serious. there was something about that lure that was dynamite.

It got cut off by a big pickerel.  I immediately bought another but it didn't work nearly as well.  I got devils horses, more dying flutters, spash tail, and wake tail but no prop I have ever owned before or since was near as good as that lure.  Oh, and yes, I did bend the props and do everything imaginable but I'm telling you it was that individual lure that had the mojo.

Out of all the prop baits I have the best one for me right now is a baby torpedo in frog.

I miss my dying flutter  :'( :'( :'(
