Tried a new section of river the other day and we killed it i caught 24 myself. Fishing some seriously gnarly cover. buddy hooked up with 15 but lost all of them. He is learning bass fishing so all he has is super light dropshot rod for bassing. Im teaching him the ways though. Im using a Powell inferno mag heavy frog rod with 65lb power pro. Skip as far under the trees as we can. That is the only way to get bit. River is max 8ft deep and most spots no more than 3. So fish just lay under the trees all day. Such a riot. Best 5 were 3.32 3.28,3.06,2.0,2.5…Buddy lost a few 3s so should have had a bigger bag but no biggie.

The cover were fishing

Hey guys, you don't need to poke the hook through the fish.  Just slide it up through the gill plate.  That way, you won't need to create an infection point in his mouth.

Hope that helps!

I found that using the gill plate gives slightly lower weights than the bottom jaw close to the lip, on some scales ive used...
